Top 5

1. Oldboy (2003)
2. Audition (1999)
3. The Grudge (2004)
4. Seven (1995)
5. The Piano Teacher (2001)

Two American films made it to my list, but generally I have to say that Americans cannot do as weird and disturbing movies as Asians can (Japanese and Koreans especially.)

What does "emotionally most disturbing" mean? Does is mean moving--as in moving to tears, or does it mean disturbing--like it gave me the willies or left me unsettled? I've seen a fukload of movies goddamnit. I need specificity.

Jaws fuked me up but Pirannah ruined my child hood. I would think the pirannah were coming out of the light in the deep end.

I mean disturbing in a sense that the movie gives you the most negative emotions when watching it, and disturbes your peace of mind if you will. I don't mean necessary moving to tears kind of film. Horror movies in general are one subcategory of emotionally disturbing movies, in my terminology.

1. Girl Interrupted (too close to home)
2. What's Love Got to do With It? - I think that is what they called the made-for-TV movie about Tina Turner's story. Wayyy too fucking close to home too. The guy who played Ike really creeped me out.

1) Slingblade
2) Elephantman
3) Head (the Monkees Movie [Zappa lived in a dumpster])
4) It's a Wonderful Life- after I found out that Frank Oz got the names for Bert & Ernie from that movie.
5) Schindlers List
.....and

This one is really disturbing. (scroll down a bit)

1. The Ring
2. Schindler's List
3. Passion of the Christ
4. Irreversable - In the future I plan to never watch a film that LBP recommends
5. Linkswarm the movie
There are probably worse movies than this out there but in general I try to stay away from anything that may emotionally disturb me.

Natural Born Killers eas disturbing. A lot of movies have scenes that are disturbing even though the movie as a whole was not.

The scene in Die Hard where Bruce Willis walks barefoot over broken glass.

The Last scene in The Ring, The steam scene in Bone Collector. Stuff like that.

Really, every single war movie (IE Platoon, Apacolypse Now, Saving Private Ryan, etc. etc.) and all the ones mentioned do not disturb me like Requiem for a dream did. Not even close.

In Cold Blood

Definitely, SPUN

Drugstore Cowboy

Chosen Survivors- A movie I saw at the drive in with my Dad and little brother when I was a kid. It's a bad movie about some people who are picked to survive an apocolypse by going 2000' feet down in a complex in Mexico where they encounter hordes of vampire bats, the one or two who survive discover it was just an experiment.

MInus Man

The Forgotten.

It was disturbing in how someone actually green lighted the movie. Makes me cry at night.
