Four more years? My ass. We're going to hit Iran, Jordan, Syria, Korea, not to mention the South American campaign. The draft is coming. The math comes out to this:

During the past two years, 1,865 of our young people have been killed and 14,021 have been wounded. At this rate, four more years means this:

� At least 5,595 will die. At least 42,063 will be wounded.

� At least 11,190 parents to grieve over their children's graves.

� At least 5,595 husbands and wives will have their loved one die.

To feed this, the volunteer rate will fall far short, and even the illegal extension of tours of duty won't help. Those of you who are reading this that are aged 15-23 are the one who will go to die.

Aren't you angry? You should, by all means, be out there protesting. Now days, with digital cameras and all the Databanks, eventually the Government tracks down the "dissidents" and will punish them with sanctions for being a weakening force to America. For speaking truth.

This is fundementally EVIL in my eyes. I am sickened by the whole thought. One in twenty of the young folks under 45 that you see on the street today will be in this war. If (and it most likely will) it goes for another 10 years, one in 25 of all the kids down to 10 years old will be in a war. The economy will be tapped. the country will go broke, and for what?

So a bunch of Sand Monkeys can Vote? So we can bring "Freedom" to the same fucker that trade their women for goats?

Bring them home.

My only hope and observation is that the farther that the pendulum swings in one direction (Reagan,Bush Sr.), the farther it swings the other way (Clinton).

I'm Canadian, therefore probably will gain hell for speeking up on this matter. After all our Prime Minister decided not to become a part of the coalition forces in Iraq. We do, however, have troops in Afghanistan.

The figures are too high now, for the paltry reasoning, and your projected figures should just make your fellow countrymen even angrier.

I have many friends, and relitives South of our border. Many of those I speak with on a weekly, or monthly basis via e-mail. When we bring the topic up, to a person, they all express more than a little concern for the future. What they are worried about is how America will fair when the last shot has sounded.

I'm not a very educated person. I've spent most of my life clinging to the four strings of my bass, and tuning out most of the world, so what follows is not my opinion, but that of the americans I do have discussions with.

They liken America today, as an Empire akin to that of old Rome. Old Rome did fall. They're waiting for the other shoe to drop. The first being 9/11. The second is when they actually have to deal with war (not terror) on their own soil.

There is no doubt that America is a powerful nation, and if Cheny gets his way (re: nukes in Iran), a very terrifiying one. My American friends are afraid of what may happen when those countries who understand that a pound of flesh must be exacted for 9/11, realize that it's now gone too far. What will happen if they form an alliance. First with words, then with sanctions, then finally with actions of a military nature.

The next four years is a concern, and the draft even more so, to my American friends. Some have children that will, no doubt, be eligible for the draft. They are concerned, in no uncertain terms, about escalation of anti-American sentiment growing beyond terrorist actions, and culminating into WWIII. Who is going to win that one? Certainly not you, or I.

Bring the boys (and girls) home. Lick your wounds, and start enjoying the beauty that is America. Spend the time, effort, and MONEY re-building the real relationship with the world outside your borders. The one that counts. If nothing else, you are America. Land of the brave, and home of the free. Expanding on that doesn't mean forcing a few sand mokeys to vote.

Yes BeachGoat, I am angry. Angry that the America I onced looked up to as a pillar of hope and freedom, is in danger of becoming a modern day Rome, burning, for a lot of bad reasons. Your troops, on your soil would be a much more effective deterant to terrorism than constanly poking a stick into a festering wound, thousands of miles away.

These are the most words I have ever strung together on the topic. BeachGoat's passionate plea for an answer: "Aren't you angry?" spoke to me as a member of the swarm, and cried out for a reply. This is mine.
