The people here are generally smart. Even the people who seem a little stupid on LS are probably geniuses compared with the rest of the internet. People here are almost always really funny as well. Best part being, the intelligence and humor manifest themselves in new and unexpected ways. There's nothing stale or predictable, for the most part.
The links are usually high quality. Either informational, bizarre, or academic, it provides insight into any number of subjects. I've probably learned more information here than college classes.
There's no bullshit admin that boots you for saying "fuck." Sometimes, it seems like admin intervention would be nice, but we're all adults (I guess) and we can handle a little internet.
Textwar is a great invention and some funny shit.
Journals are a cool feature that I haven't seen anywhere else yet.
The AQ is worth it...of course, it took me winning a couple months worth to finally figure that out. I like being able to vote on what eventually ends up on the front page. I also like to see rejected links, because they're not ALWAYS worthless.
I feel as if the amount of work that Vas and others (kHz :'( ) put into the site is an obvious reason why it's a quality place where we can all watch a dude chop his dick off. |
