Any Family Guy that is all Stewie or Brian the dog would be GREAT. Even as cartoons, Peter and Lois remind me of too many people I know from RI, MA and ME.

Review:
This movie was made by combining three separate family guy episodes (season 4, production episodes 4, 5, and 6,) all of them very Stewie and Brian intensive, so the plot is weak, and the whole first half is fairly irrelevant to the rest of the movie. There are some bits of filler to tie it all together, for example, the opening which shows the characters walking the red carpet into a screening of the movie. The plot is definitely weaksauce.
There also wasn't enough of that characteristic Family Guy violence. I blame this on a lack of Peter. Most of the movie was about Stewie, with a fair amount about Brian, so most of the humor was situational and intellectual, not slapstick. This is bad because I like slapstick.
The music was great. The music of season 4 is really high quality in general, and it's good in the movie too. I can't remember if there were any musical numbers, although there weren't enough, that's for sure. I feel that any time Brian and Stewie get together, there should be a duet, but maybe that's just me.
Altogether, the movie was *pretty* good, but not great. In other words, it's worth downloading, but not worth buying the DVD.
Here's hoping a real Family Guy movie is coming in the future, not something cobbled together from unaired episodes. |
