All,
I have an iTrip and I haxxored the thing with the simple but usefull ha(k of opening it up and exposing the antenna. It's made of like 22 gauge copper wire. Anyways, I tried this other ha(k posted on gizmodo

Its a very simplified boost for the signal that is coming out of the iTrip antenna. There are a couple of mistakes on the schematics, like the .001 "transistor" is actually a capacitor anyone should know that from the "ceramic disk" description. Anyhew, I can't get much out of it. I am using a solderless bread bord and a 12v battery in a casing with leads from radio shack as well as all the other parts. However, a 10 uH RF choke is hard to get a hold of, I could only find a 100 uH, so I used that. Didn't work so i built my own inductor like it says in the instructions. No good. My set up actually makes the signal worse, creates alot of interference, i get odd stations and shizzle.
Question is, has anyone else tried this? I looked around a bunch and found some places that have and made it work but they also said that the boost isn't all that much. Anyone got a better design or a way to work around the inductor/10 uH RF Choke? Or is there a way to use the 100 uH RF choke? What parts would I need to change? Hate to troll but this is driving me crazy, more than normal at least.

I took it as a typo and got the capacitor instead. Any ideas on the RF Choke?
