Hey Folks,
Check out this site, www.fatamerican.tv . There are shirts for some major progressive issues, some cultural icons, peace activists, and this isnt your crappy generic cafe press garbage. Look at these two for instance:
SWEAT*SHOP T
Vintage Come See Iraq... vacation
I think you'll enjoy these, as long as you didn't enjoy bush's speech.
Who is headed to the next anti war protest in DC? School of the Americas Watch in GA?
be well folks,

Interesting. This actually isn't crap. Remarkable. I give this "come check out my shit" post a A+ for doing it right.
Personally, the injun in me loves this:

which illustrates a point I like to bring up from time to time to explain why murderin' and lootin' is what built this great country, and also why the people crying on TV when the injuns annex their homes to build casinos are being churlish.
I'm real picky about what crap I allow to be painted all over my front, but I know chex has some real commie-love shit going on on some of his shirts. Let me send you his credit card number.

I know ADCS, maybe LinkSwarm is moving into a whole new level of existence and purpose. We might just have something here.
Edit: holy smoke, the whole site's good. I especially liked the captions to the T-shirts. Can we feature this on the main page, as a standalone link? And maybe pin it to the top for a short while (despite the commercial interests)?

I love the walmart girlie shirt. I have ordered. $21.50 is a little steep for a t-shirt but my stores of emo garb are woefully low these days. Woefully low, I say. |

Athough I support the sentiment and humor provided in these wearables, I choose not to embroider any corporate logo, legit or not, on my personal chest. Discorporate, I say - when possible buy from local producers (particularly important when it comes to food) and let's all bring down the corporate power that leashes the asshats in Washington. Certainly do NOT wear a corporate logo emblazoned on your chest - this is not only unwholesome, it is economically stupid. Do you know how much money those big corporations spend on advertising annually? Billions. And there you are giving them FREE ADVERTISING. What, are you on dope? Get yer piece of the pie, NOW - stop hawking for Nike, et al, for the sake of fashion, beauty, and or status.
Nonetheless, FatAmerican, you've done it right - it's seldom that reviews are so positive in this den of ultra-critique. A larger selection would encourage greater sales. Choice==good.
On a related note, a friend gave me a bumper sticker a few years back that says "Wake Up, You Ugly Fat-Ass American" (basic black text on white background). I haven't put it on my car, because I happen to like my car and am afeared of what might happen to it should I express that particular sentiment in these parochial parts.

Gee Folks,
Wow. I am suprised by how seriously you guys are taking this. A lot of thought goes in to your comments, which makes your compliments all the more gratifying. I appreciate the suggestions and am working on increasing the selection on my site, but we are just so damn picky. As you can tell, we are steering away from the che shirt. I believe Subcommandante Marcos was a great addition to fill his place. We aren't just trying to get people to wear the logo, we want people to inform themselves. It makes no sense to me that there is an entire generation out there right now that is obessessed with Scarface and make him out to be a hero or martyr. What good did he ever do? He sold drugs, beat his wife, killed people, was a terrible father, humiliated his friends and family, sold more drugs, killed more people and got killed. Screw freaking Scarface! You want to learn about someone romantically heroic, go read about Subcommandante Marcos, a modern Zorro-- real too! Oh my! You guys are great. I look forward to joining your discussions in greater depth.

He got all poetic and softy near the end and ran off into the sunset right? I can't recall, except that I have been told Regan is the bestest american ever in the whole wide worl.

Be careful man, you might not know what you're getting yourself into.
Obviously you need an increased selection. References to the Zapatistas are obviously pretty hard to find these days-props. I like less the "kill-em-all" Bush style logos and the Jesus drug-style illustrations than the terrorist and Iraq logos. You can get a lot of mileage out of subtle, careful satire of popular designs-though you obviously shouldn't take it too far. The world should provide more than enough fodder for your creative process-hope it goes well. Just don't go too far into the bullshit che/marx-liberal realm. Keep it with subtle, insightful designs.
A School of the Americas alumnus shirt might be fun. Good luck.

Well, we don't run laps around the block in the summer the sweat them up. In fact, I don't think any sweat gets on them throughout the printing process. The shirts themselves are made in North Carolina, USA by Soffe.
Yeah... you can tell that a lot of the stuff you guys are steering away from is in the clearence section. We agree! As for the amount of colors for each shirt, we have been trying to limit to one. I know... this is not good business. Maybe we aren't good business people. I need to think about it.
I have to go read that article about Reagan being the greatest American ever. Hopefully it wont cause me to thrust my head through the screen. He was a B-movie actor and even worse of a president. As Jackie Mason once said, "He might be the greatest president this country has ever seen, it just so happens that it's not his field!"

Good deal man, I'll probably order something to gussy up my selection soon.
By the way, there's an excellent store here in Ann Arbor called The Planet. The sell items RIGHT up this alley and you might look into getting in contact with them. I know for a fact that they sell other shirts by smaller and online companies with many similar views/messages. I could possibly even go there myself for you and talk to them. PM if you're interested. |

Sometimes you can joke. and sometimes you need to take five minutes.
Right now, I stand with the UK dead against the war on terror.
I must begin with condolences for those who have suffered in New York, Washington, Afghanistan, Iraq, Madrid, Palestine and now London in this "war on terror." The peoples of the world are united against the atrocities committed by either side and demand charity and compromise before plunder and hostility. This can be the only path to peace and the best possible way to commemorate the dead--not the people who make the policy of nations.
What happened in the London this morning...
This is not good.
The violence is very counter productive to the good things going on at the g8 meetings. And this was the first time they were ever trying to do something good. Now this happens and bush gets to come out and look like john wayne again, the all-american cowboy, the hero. What happened to yesterday's bush, whose ratings were at a severe low for any president as our oil barrels reached an all-time high? Literally, yesterday bush, on his 59th birthday, rammed his bike into a British police officer, scraping his own hands and sending the patrol to the hospital. That was funny. This is not.
I’d like to say that what has happened in London, Madrid, and New York (washington dc is another story) is greatly the fault of the leaders of nations for ignoring the concerns of average people, whose lives are affected by their decisions. However, you can't blame one side or the other in these instances. This simply reaffirms that we should belong with neither. We are the people in between. We are the people they ignore. We are the victims of profit and conquest. When we stand with others whose voices are unheard we should work together and use our might to rid our own systems of wrong and evil before forcing others to do the same.
Today, I an overwhelmed with sympathy for the people who were injured, empathy for those who are afraid, and pity for those who are duped by violence committed in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence, in response to violence in response to dxfgdshdghfgjghdjhv.dfsa.fskdvs vs,v
Watch the ratings soar today as profit margins increase from suffering. When we depend on news as our biggest source of entertainment, we'll keep producing gangsters, killers, and child molesters to feed it. i want admirable role models, not gangster presidents.
Inform yourselves!
Be Well,
Fat American
