So far all I have found are TV cards. Is there any way to tap into the cable input and watch "cable" from my puter without buying a TV card?

Step away from the monitor and buy a television. Don't think so , most video cards have TV Out now, you mean a different TV only card?

Since I have cable internet I was wondering if I "steal" and watch it since it is already plugged into my computer. I'm not a TV junkie, My "ex" and I are splitting up and she is taking the TV. So rather than buy another tv...........

you can buy a HDTV box and run the cables directly into the computer.

I've got an ATI card and the software it's bundled with includes this LAN tv signal sharing option. It basically allows you to stream your tv-tuner signal to other clients on the lan at varying qualities. I can only think of a few places where this might be pracitcal, namely campus housing.
