Since when does elitism require an explanation?
As for me, I kinda liked it. it's obviously some at-home doodling with technology, but I think it has potential, and it reminded me, in a wierd way, of this, which, though labelled as BIll Laswell, is apparently done by a group called Laibach which I bought a tape of and roundly despised apart from this track.
Incidentally, this Laibach track makes me want to rip out of my clothes and run through the streets devouring people and skewering them on gladiatorial implements of destruction.
YMMV.

elitism requires no explanation. I've gotta at least make some attempt to hold my own, or risk being eaten alive, however. I know how this shit works.
do you like NIN? They're the first similar mainstream 'band' I can really equate my style to off the top of my head; and it's a pretty hit-or-miss category. I'm not much of a composer, I just fuck around with sequencers trying to create the oddities I hear in my head. Love it or hate it, or tear your clothes off to it.
if YMMV is some kinda leet-linkswarm-slang, I'm gonna need clues or some shit.

this is a 'creepysad snowtheme' I made for a video game. Supposed to sound like a pilgrimage up a snowy mountain, or some shit. For something I pulled outta my ass in all of ten minutes, I really adore the end result.

Death Of A Dream
first of all, you have the whole song mixed wayyyy to low. Open this puppy back up, and raise the master volume around 20% so every joe doesn't have to jack up their speakers when they play it.
Kind of a monotanous, drone like quality to the bass/kick you have going on here. Kind of boring IMHO but whatever at least it is of decent quality. My favorite section of the song is around 1:48, and is the only part of the track I even hear an inkling of similarity to NiN. The drums are okay, but really need to have some fidelity eq or fx put on them. Personally, to me they sound a bit muddy, I would raise the high end a bit, bring them forward a little bit in the mix. Maybe add a slight distortion (what software or sequencers are you using?). For the 'style' or feel this song has, the drums sound too clean and unaffected. IMO
around 2:56, a sound comes in that I like, but you need to lower the decay on that reverb you have on it, the sound is dragging on too much. Sounds too 'echoey'. Lower the decay and that will go away.
All in all at the very least an original song, which I respect, certainly n ot crap. The ending was the worst part of the whole song, and it gave me the impression (with the duh duh crash at the very end) that you weren't taking your own sound seriously.
Don't listen to attitude's like DENT. Keep writing music if that's what you're into. This isn't exactly the best place to get a real review or educated opinion (of electronica) though. Try http://www.soundclick.com for that.
I dabble a bit myself, though it's been a while since I've been able to finish a song. You can listen to a couple of my tunes here , here and here.

Amp, some people in here DO create music. Some of us in here also create full tracks with instruments. I have posted music too, but I never know how to find shit in here.
