List books you're willing to part with. If you see a book posted that you want to borrow, PM the poster with your address.

Margaret Atwood – Oryx and Crake
Thomas Harris – Silence of the Lambs
Thomas Harris – Hannibal
Janet Fitch – White Oleander
Kim Stanley Robinson – Green Mars
Jeffrey Kluger – Journey beyond Selene. If you have an interest in this sci-fi stuff, I’ll catalogue all my hubs’s books. I include these two for flavor.
Michael Slade – Evil Eye (very twisty ending)
Chuck Palahniuk – Survivor
Bob Harrington – Preacher of Bourbon Street
Barbara Parker – Suspicion of innocence
Shana Alexander – Nut Cracker
Robert Walker – Blind Instinct
Bernard Lewis – What went wrong?
Arthur Golden – Memoirs of a Geisha (damn)
Stephen Coonts – America
Tom Clancy – Point of Impact
Peter Benchley – The Deep (sequel to Jaws)
Jacqueline Susann – Valley of the Dolls
Jacqueline Susann – The love machine
Arthur La Bern – Frenzy (alfred hitchock movie)
Michael Crichton – A case of need (E.R. TV series based on)
Chuck Barris – Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
Mary Shelley – Frankenstein
Jeffrey Deever – Devil’s Teardrop
Barbara Delinsky – Lake News
Nicolas Sparks – A Walk to Remember
Douglas Preston – Thunderhead
the four above all bound together in a Reader’s Digest condensed volume. I bought it for Deever, of course but read them all. A Walk to Remember made me cry, dammit.

Heather, silly gurl. The Deep is not a sequel to Jaws, it is a treasure hunt novel (treasure= morphine, the drug, not the band)

It seemed sequel-esque to me.

Like those Robin Cook books, different stories but same characters. Not exactly a series but similar.

I think I have some of those too, Coma and Brain for sure.

Coma rawks, an example where the movie was as good as the book

Brain was pretty good too. A bit dated, since medical technology has far surpassed the 70s style in the book but good nonetheless.

This is going to really annoy me 'cos I live just a little to far away to make it viable. Besides, the one thing I will never do is part with a book. Even if I read the first chapter and hate it, it sits on the bookcase and never moves again, but I will not dispose of it. Every few years I have to build another 6'x4' bookcase and get them all standing up again rather than lying on top of each other.

Can we make a book of the month, like on Oprah?

We should have Book Gang, instead of a Book Club, we can flash our set at other Book Gangs. To be initiated into the gang, you have to read the complete works of T.S. Elliot, while other members talk loudly, watch tv, and do other distracting things. GDR can slang illegal literature at school to earn us money.

Can I start a New Jersey Chapter?

Yep. Plus you get royalties on the name, making your chapter the only financially self-sustaining one to date.
