truenative's journal: The $5 Mill meep This Morning
I got a call early this morning that some guy had run his 98 foot yacht into the jetty right in my old neighborhood. I ran down there and took some photos. This thing is at least a $5 Million Dollar boat, looking at the damage and what it is going to take to pull this off the rocks I figure there is a few hundred thousand buck worth of work if not more. When I was leaving they were getting ready to pump off the 7,000 gallons of fuel that's on board so it doesn't leak out when they pull it off if the hull cracks.
truenative's journal: ghey e-bay sheit
I know I am opening myself up for serious spanking here but this was just too funny to not share with y'all. As I may have mentioned in previous posts I work part time listing meep on e-bay for an antique dealer. We get all types of stuff from priceless art to crappy collectable like precious moments. Recently we got the contents of a big ghey estate with some really terrible art and other meep I've been forced to write up. Well I have pretty much a wide open artistic license to say whatever I want about the stuff we are listing as I've been working here for a few years now and my boss has a pretty good sense of humor. Anyway today I got these 4 glasses, they are really, REALLY bad....just see for yourself. The description I'm putting on e-bay follows....enjoy
truenative's journal: Genesis 11-11-2003
While I have always known when I actually registered to leave my first comment early this year during the whole Zapple debacle I, like many of you, spent a pretty long time just lurking the site. I mostly would just pop in for a couple of good links and wouldn't even click on the comments or God forbid the forums or journals, figuring eh...whatever that meep is for members....those guys are probably dorks anyway. Well... that was fine and dandy for a while but I was eventually sucked in and really felt at home with the general attitude of the Swarm. However, like an adopted child I was always curious of my true beginnings. Just when & how the meep did I find the swarm anyway? Recently while going through some old forum posts from Vas I actually think I have finally narrowed it down to a date none the less! If my logic serves me correctly I first made it here from a google search on the heiress & meep extraordinaire we know and may not love. Basically, I found linkswarm because of Vas's humongous meep to be one of the only 'Non-Your Mom's Bullmeep meep' sites to host that horrible green and grainy video that we were all so desperate to see at the time. Ok, I might not be proud of how I got here, but at least I made it here and to be more specifically made it here on 11-11-2003. Also as a result of this digging to find my genesis I ran across the forum where Vas let us know that he got hit with a pretty sizeable bill from his host. In retrospect I hope I would have been one of the members to pitch in on the bail out. Unfortunately I wasn't, I was the ultra-noob lurker, just like the 100 that are probably cruising the site right now. However what I did realize is this; Dam it! I really enjoy the swarm and 11-11-2003 was a long meeping time ago! I really need to stop being such a niger and pony up!
It looks like I'm going to get our first direct hit of Hurricane Season over the next few days from Tropical Storm Katrina. They say it will upgrade to a Cat 1 Hurricane just before it hits land. The yellow dot on the map signifying when it reaches hurricane strenght is currently sitting directly over my house on the map.
truenative's journal: Werst B-day card Evar
Well as you already know by my photoshop link (the only thing making me happy right now) I've just turned over another year on the odometer bringing in the big 30. Now I'm doing my best not to freak out and make too big a deal about it, heck I'm just a day over 29. My 20s were pretty good, I finished college, I'm not meep, I haven't spent any jail time, I'm not addicted to any drugs outside of coffee, have always had a good job and even did the 50 hour a week corporate routine for a few years. It's fair to say I've never been a burden on my folks financially or legally so to speak.
truenative's journal: 19th Century Masonic Wierdness
I have come across several pieces of antique 19th Century Masonic jewelry and am quite curious to their meaning, use and origin. My Grandfather and his Brother Clayton were both Masons 33rd Scottish as I understand it. Unfortunately they have both passed or I would love to ask them about it among other things Mason. I have done a little research and have found some of the elements of theses pieces while the rest remains a mystery. I figured with what a diverse group of info junkies we have here on the swarm maybe somebody might know something about them. All I know is if I were going to hide and alien or sacrifice a virgin I would definitely want to be wearing this meep.
truenative's journal: Ex's Territory Invasion
Last night a good friend of mine and I got a little roasted and headed down to my favorite local grubby restaurant for some food and a beer. This place is a real gem, it's named Ernie's BBQ

truenative's journal: Gas Gouging
So the gas gouging has already begun in my area in preparation for Hurricane Wilma. For the last several days they have been showing the forecasted track more or less mowing through Downtown Main Street. Even though the potential storm is still days away the media has everyone whipped into an absolute frenzy. All the stores are already running out of bottled water and batteries and the gas prices are starting to climb. I'm not sure if it makes me part of the herd but I always make sure I fill at least my truck with gas. So on my way to work I passed a couple of stations, every one had the 'out of order' bags over all the 87 octane. I finally gave up and stopped at a Hess station (on Broward and 7th ave for any locals). I slid my card in and opted to receive the printed receipt since I had a little hunch something was fishy. I pulled the 87 octane nozzle from the pump and pulled of the bag. I put the nozzle into the truck just a bit and gave a squeeze just to see if it was pumping and looking ok. Surprise-Surprise I was able to pump my 25 gallons without a problem. I took my printed receipt and headed up to the attendant booth. I asked why the 87 octane pumps were covered up. 'Are you out of 87?'. The manager replied 'Oh yeah, bone dry; been out all day.' So I pressed my receipt against the window and said 'Funny just filled up 25 gal for me just fine.- I mean why not exploit the panic of the public to push your expensive gas, right? 93 Octane at .40 cents more a gallon is probably better for your generators and H2's anyway. I put a call in to my friend at the local paper about the station and figured it was the same story at the other stations. Who knows if they will follow up or not but it sure rubbed me the wrong way.
truenative's journal: Home Brew
For my winter hobby I decided to try my hand at home brewing some beer for the first time. This first batch is an IPA and should be ready to drink in about 8 more days. I have the fermenting jar in my kitchen covered with a blanket to keep it nice and dark. I checked on it this morning and it is bubbling like mad. It's a regular yeast party!
Up all night?
