jwalker's journal: LS Questions

If I submit a link and is either approved or rejected it looks like then it shows up on my "Last 10 Links Swarmed by me" list. What if links were submitted and they are not on that list - does it mean they are pending in a queue waiting to be either approved or rejected? Do links ever get lost?

For your entertainment.

jwalker's journal: I Am Yosemite Sam

Two week vacation, entertaining the parents -> first day of three at Yosemite nat'l park. It's nice to be away from the city for a little while. We rented a cabin near Hetch Hetchy out in the middle of nowhere. It is so quiet - the wind in the trees and various forest critters, and the stars are so bright - no traffic or airplanes - just a vast expanse of wilderness.

jwalker's journal: Ghost in the machine

So I put on some music to chill by today and sat back with a book. About 15 minutes later, I realize there is no sound anymore. Huh? I checked the stereo and the CD is still playing, but the volume is at zero. Shrugging it off, I turned the volume back up again, but didn't get as far as the sofa before it slowly faded out. Ok, so something's going on - I go back to the stereo and turn it back up. This time I wait and watch. Sure enough, it turns itself down again - I can see the volume numbers decreasing slowly. I sit down in front of the thing, cursing under my breath, and try turning it off and back on again - it seems okay now; chalk it up to a fluke. No sooner do I get up and start to walk back to the sofa when, sure enough, the meep thing slowly fades out again! Now I'm really starting to worry - I try everything, switching channels, speakers, looking through the menus - with the same results: it will work okay for a little bit, but as soon as I think its okay and walk away it fades out, like the thing is intentionally messing with me. I even looked through the owner's manual for some setting I never knew about, maybe under "mindmeep" or something.

Generative Dream Drawing Art Project

In our dreams lie childish figures, random shapes and half remembered memories. Ana Somnia is a generative art project that emulates how we dream, combining animation, soundscapes and code. Kim Kstler's Illustrations merge in manifold permutations, seemingly the same, yet different each time. Switch off your lights to enter Ana's dreamworld.
