Having a swell time, au Francois. Unfortunately, the keyboard layout sux, so I'll keep it short. Paris has been a blast, Sacre Coeur is just about the most magnificent building evar. I'm banging this out on a public computer waiting for the rental car place to open. meep near teh whole city shuts down from 12 til 2 in the afternoon. We're getting a car to drive to Switzerland, via a meandering trip through the French countryside. The Champs Elyse is where I've spent a great deal of my time, sipping double esspresso, smoking, and just taking life at a Parissienne pace. Crystal may have to drag me home by my hair; I don't want to return to teh States.

Clavis_Apocalypticae's journal: Fire Strikes Too Close To Home

Saturday July 2nd, 2005, a fire ripped through the apartment building where my aunt and uncle lived. While their lives were spared, four were not. Their 31 year old neighbor and her 2 month old child were counted among the dead. The woman sucmeepbed to smoke and flames as she desperately tried to rescue her baby. Three firefighters were trapped briefly when they tried to rescue the woman and the baby. They were forced from the structure when the roof began to collapse. Faulty wiring is suspected as having caused this tragedy.

This morning at 4:30AM, Justin Thomas Mercier, Linkswarm User Valt, died of congestive heart failure. He was 22 years old. He was born with a heart defect, and received a heart transplant 6 years ago.

Well here we are again; the day to celebrate our dads fuking our moms, or ourselves hitting some rad MILF snootch. Father's Day always fills me with mixed emotions; my father was a real meepsucker when I was a kid, but has gotten more mellow with age; my grandfathers, both of whom I adored, are both dead; and I myself am celebrating my 7th Father's Day, dad to the most beautiful and graceful child ever to utter the phrase "DAAD, I NEED HELP WIPING!!!".

Is there a more soul-sucking activity in all of life? Even with the assistance of professional movers, the whole process is a real drag. Sure, I trust them to move the furniture, the appliances, and some of the electronics; but things like computers, the wine collection, the crystal and china, the stuff in the fridge, and our depraved collection of meep toys and such? No fuking way. So, there is still a ton of meep that we have to move ourselves.
