now they can all offend each other in consolidation

The only real problem i see with this, is that i don't think many meep offenders are going to want to be put in a place that is clearly labeled as a home for perverts. Although i do hope it works out.

:Jumps out of alley:
"I'm gonna rape y...."(interrupted by suprise meepmeep)
"HEY, HEY!!...meep man. Wait yer turn!"

i dunno, it's not like they aren't already labeled as meep offenders. there are laws requiring them to tell their neighbors, upon moving into a new location, that they are meep offenders, also they are labeled meep offenders on their drivers licenses, etc. i can't recall if it went through, but it was proposed that the license plates of meep offenders have something on them that identifies them as meep offenders. so it's not entirely a bad idea for a meep offender to want to live in a colony made for such individuals.

"[It's] far enough from civilization from where they're not around parks and kids," Farris said. "They're not going to be surrounded or have temptations."

i laughed at this more than i should have, implying meep offenders have no hope of rehabiliatation and are animalian and a threat to everyone with their out of control id

I suppose there is that. I don't think that there's no hope for rehabilitation, but i think of it like it's an addiction. You will always want it, but you have the strength to overcome it? If this makes sense. So all in all it's a great theory, lets hope it outdoes communism in this aspect.

chemical castration. that is all.

Haha, yes. I actually think that is a tad cruel, but they deserve it. So point moot. If only we could find the source of these thoughts, and a way to stop them from happening at all. Chemical castration only does so much, and isn't there a chance that it won't be effective?

it's not cruel if it prevents another person from being violated and having to deal with the emotional repercussions. and anyway, chemical castration is court ordered, so the people who have to undergo it have no say in the matter.

trying to root out the causal factors is a whole can of words i am not going to open.

Yeah. I agree with you on this. Glad to know it's possible.

@sunny77

How do you chemically castrate the hot school teacher who meeps her teenage student and gets labelled a meep offender?

Should you even try?

What about the teenage girls who get the title for texting a pic of their meep to their boyfriend?

chemical castration isn't ordered in those cirmeepstances. your crimes have to be pretty meeping terrible to warrant that sort of thing.

There is a body of evidence to show that chemical castration isn't really an effective way to prevent recidivism in meepual abusers.

"I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people," said Phillips, who believes emotion rather than logic is swaying some people on the benefits of chemical castration. "We are looking at an area in public policy where there is great exasperation....I think these [laws] are acts of desperation. I do not believe you can find great scientific evidence to suggest that it can or will make a difference," said Phillips, even though "in animal models there is no question that chemical castration reduces the meepual urge. I maintain, however, that these behaviors extend beyond the meepual urge and, I believe, are rooted not only in aberrant meepual appetite but more profoundly in deviant predatory behavior."

And, if the objective is to stop meep offenders from re-offending, said Phillips, chemical castration, while an effective procedure, is not the solution to the problem. "The reality is that there is no guarantee that by chemically castrating an individual they will not go back out and re-offend."

So this will be a small town. Two meep offenders will meet and have children. Children will grow up in this town. They'll have to have a school. They'll have to have teachers.

There will be pizza delivery boys and mailmen and cops, firefighters, and plumbers.

They'll probably even have to have a mayor.

I'm not sure what this solves.

I tend to agree with onemob's cite - and think that many meep offenses (e.g. rape) aren't so much about the meep as they are about power and control, and as such, castration (physical or chemical) really wont solve the problem. They'll just bring an object to the party.

I don't know what the recidivism statistics are, but if treatment is handled like anything else in this country, I suspect the stats are pretty grim.

Grouping all of them together however would present a convenient target.

Hahaha, start, you feeling like target practice?

Next we round up the mentally challenged. They could pose a risk to someone somewhere. Then we move on to Japanese Americans...Oh wait we already did that once. You cannot compartmentalize people like this unless they have been legally removed from society and are in the penal system. Can you imagine the uproar when a kid goes missing and the "village" is essentially blocked off and the residents quarantined? I hate molesters but I like freedom and our constitution better.

@folkmoot

isn't this already done vis-a-vis the proximity laws that give rise to the need for such a village? Also, doesnt probation count as 'legally removed" for this purpose?

I wonder if chemical castration would work. Don't they already do it on race horses and such cause it makes them more docile?
