This meep needs a meeping pigs category, post haste.

You know, by about 2:30 into the first video I was 100% on the cops' side here. Looks like some yelling drunken assholes were ruining everyone elses' day at the park, got the cops called on them, and then continued to act like lunatic drunken assholes right up until being put in the cars.

The blonde girl started punching a cop in the head, which is going to get your meep arrested. And then the ultra-lunatic wouldn't-go-down guy with the "I CAN'T BREEEAATHHE OMG I CAN'T BREEEAATHHE I CAN'T BREEEAAATHE OMG OMG I CAN'T BREEEATHE" Holy meep, if you can yell that over and over again you can breathe just fine.

And swearing the whole time. I saw kids with their families in that video, thanks a lot, guys. The round of applause the arriving cops got at 8:00, I think, sorta confirms it.

Christ, I hate police brutality as much as the next guy, and those other videos are meeped up, but that first one is the one where I gotta say I can't imagine the cops doing things any better. I mean, no tasers, no pepper spray, no clubs, kicking, or punching (except when the girl was punching the cop in the head) -- where's the brutality?

AMEN! This is the first one of these videos where I was rooting for the cops. I can't believe the restraint the cops showed, I would have tazed the meep after the first five minutes. When he asked them why he was being arrested, and they told him 3 times, just because he didn't believe they were correct didn't mean they were going to change their answer if he kept asking the same meeping questions over and over. "Why are you arresting me? Why are you arresting me? Why are you arresting me?" meep! I wanted to shoot him in his meeping head! Kudos to the cops for keeping calm, I would have lost it on the guy.

And the girlfriend, giving the cop a bloody nose, un-meeping-believable. I hope they throw the book at her.

As much as I hate the bad cops, I love the good ones. As for freedom of speech, I believe bad-mouthing a cop should not fall under freedom of speech. In any case, talking to the cop arresting you is of no use. If he wants to arrest you, he will. If you KNOW and not "feel like" your rights are being violated, then you can

A. Sit back and enjoy the ride and sue later..
B. Fight back and get stomped.
C. Talk back and get stomped.
D. Fight, talk back, get stomped and bask in the infamy of being a youtube celbrity.

Freedom of speech covers the right to express ideas and concepts without being punished or censored by government -- it does not give you the right to hit the lake and ruin everyone else's day by acting like drunken yelling meephats.

How do you know how they were acting before the cops arrived? The video only domeepents the situation after the pigs showed up to escalate it into what it became.

How do you know that this entire incident didn't begin with one of these people simply telling someone to go meep himself and that meephurt someone called the cops? This meep happens every day... and then the pigs show up and escalate the situation into something it never was. It's called harassment, and once you've been the victim of police harassment, you'll understand how meeped up it is.

I'm not saying that these particular citizens aren't stupid, but I also don't consider profanity at a lakeside campground a thing that police need to be involved with in the first place. I mean seriously, cops showing up in multiple cars to address a profanity complaint? Are you meeping kidding me? Do we need to walk around this country as if we're in kindergarten now?

Living in Michigan and spending a meep ton of my life in, on and around the Great Lakes, I have seen a lot of drunken college kids partying and carrying on like retards. It's a natural thing for kids to do when they're partying on the lake. Only a true meephat would call the cops on this sort of fun and turn a little party into a meeping raid over a little profanity.

meep those pigs and meep your virgin ears. You do not have the right to freedom from profanity and the cops are not your personal virgin ear protection. They're just meeping words. Grow the meep up.

ok.. so it's been established that nobody knows why or when the cops were called, or what was happening before.
and Wotak, meephats who'd call the cops , or even merely rat you out to management for nothing events, are legion.

tl;dr

I'm basing the assumption on

a) that they were obviously hammered, loud, and swearing when the cops showed up
b) that's why the cops were there, for all the swearing, as the cops told them
c) that there were families with their children there who are the ones who likely called the cops and
d) that the backup cops at around 8:00 got a round of applause from everyone else there when they showed up

PROTIP: Public parks, being paid for by everyone, are the property of everyone, and everyone has the right to quiet enjoyment of public recreation spaces. "Quiet enjoyment," by the way, is the exact phrase on the books. Simply put, aside from the other laws against public intoxication that these morons were clearly breaking, you just do not have the right to ruin everybody else's day at a public park because you are being a loud meep. If the beach was the assholes' property, they'd be able to do whatever they liked on it, but when you're in a space that everybody else ALSO owns, they have more right to have a nice day at the beach than you have to ruin it for them. lrn2law.

And AGAIN, no tasers, no clubs, no beating or kicking or stomping or punching, except for the girl punching one of the cops. I've seen lots of police brutality, on the tubes and in real life, and this just ain't it. Sorry. I was actually impressed by the cops' restraint and professionalism here, because after a couple minutes of that -I- would've walked over and knocked that moron out.
