Pretty easy to answer.
This Wesley Scroggins is a joke.
This Republic School District Board is a joke.
It is probably fair to say that this Republic School District is a joke (even if what the community of Republic, MO is doing to itself is not).
So I find them difficult to take seriously.
Also, I fail to see that anyone's freedoms are being snatched away--particularly anyone's freedom to read and/or watch Speak, Slaughterhouse Five, or Twenty Boy Summer.
What I do see, is the elected members of the Republic School Board serving the community of Republic, MO in the manner in which the community expected them to when they elected that board.
Now you might be winding up to throw the "what about the rights and expectations of those who didn't vote for this board, and disagree with this board's initiatives?" argument at me.
That will be LOLz. It will be double LOLz if you are a supporter of the supremacy of the will and purview of the State in matters of primary education.

His work will not be undone on that day. No-one will say 'Oh he was a pervert, he must have been wrong about those books he had us ban", they will leave the ban in place. The only change will be that they MAY stop listening to him, but I wouldn't bet on it.
