The One-Percenters

Day after day I read stories that make me angry. Wanton consumption is glorified. Corruption is rewarded. Ordinary people see their real income dropping, their houses sold out from under them, their pensions plundered, their unions legislated against, their health care still under attack. Yes, people in Wisconsin and Ohio have risen up to protest these realities, but why has there not been more outrage?

Decider: LORDKAHUNA

LORDKAHUNA

Dude, where the meep has Roger Ebert been for the past 3 decades if not the past 3 millenia? He's JUST NOW getting it that the Rich rip the meep off the poor over and over and over? Pull your head and your meep out of that bucket of popcorn and rejoin the real world, fat boy.

I've said it once and I'll say it again now: If the American people really understood what was taking place between the government and private sector and how they are "paying for it" in so many ways, they would be marching with arms on the capital.

But, complacency, fear, and the illusion of helplessness is a powerful thing it would seem.

I'm sure this "new" realization was very troubling and upsetting for Roger Ebert on his limo ride from his penthouse to his office suite.

Yeah. meep Roger Ebert - chinless limo-riding penthouse-living popcorn-meep-stuffing mothermeeper. Joe Dirt was an excellent movie.

I don't understand your point, are you discrediting the message with the hipsteresque stance that this is "pfft, news to nobody"?

Point is, this dude is communicating a message that should be repeated often, that you John Q Citizen should be mindful of every time you choose who to do business with. If you gave a meep you could I dunno, pass the message along.

See the problem is that many people look at stuff like this and understand it intellectually, but make no emotional investment to it. Ebert has a more effective vehicle for communicating this than you or I, and the very best you can do is kick at the hubcaps.

Then again, this is the internet and you are all retarded.

Sad thing is my parents know the b.s. going down, and they meep and meep about it. Yet, they take no action, because "what the meep am i supposed to do about it? the government controls everything" I just wish i was competent enough to get a job and get my meep down there myself.

I think they sell the cinderella myth pretty hard, and everyone dreams of "making it rich someday". You have to give up that dream if you think there is something wrong with being filthy rich. It is the only dream we have left. "Some day my prince will come..."

not here maybe, but I'm pretty sure you've made claims to it before, which I guess would be reinforced by the second half of your statement.

I'm just wondering how you plan to fix a system that allows a few to basically rape the rest of the world by getting rid of what few laws regulate them, effectively or not.

Sunny, why did you wait? So odd, a post concuring with meepbox followed by a post about chomsky

After your post I was looking for my copy of this DVD which I was to photograph and shove in Mofoface here, but I recall letting my brother in law borrow it (with the Animatrix dvd from my box set). Chomsky and anime, pfft!
He has some interesting things to say.

I had made quite a large post responding to Trollfo's comment but decided to not post it because no one is that interested to learn that several of the things that keep the top 1% gaining wealth may have been destroyed if allowed to fail as they should have in a true open market, free of handouts/bailouts, subsidies, and giant 18 inch black rubber dildos.

With this FCC/Comcast-meep debauchery recently it may behoove legislators to pass a law forbidding private/public sector bouncing around, particularly within federal regulatory positions. But who the meep wants to legislate themselves out of a job?
