I've butchered a hog or two, and these guys look like they haven't been doing it long.
Folks that do it a lot have a drain trough specially for bleeding.
And did you see how full the gut was?
You're supposed to take the meep off the feed for a day or two so you don't have a meepload (ha) of mass when you're guttin' it.
You can use a propane weed burner to singe the hair, but we had a drum full of hot water and a chain fall for hoisting it up and dipping.
But like the video shows, the very worst part is decapitating that 300 pound meeper.
They have no neck, so you have to cut as deep as you can, close to the head and grab handfuls of meat and twist until the bone breaks away.
It's a little messy. -Bring napkins.
