It was mostly to see what I could do with the limited space . The cooling system originally designed for fursuits however ended being (and still is) a great seller. Mostly to guys who are over in Iraq and Afghanistan. They wear it under their body armor during the summer. The NiMH cell back and current regulator allows for 8 -10 hours of runtime per charge.

funny thing is after I built the unit for the Stormtrooper I built a similar setup for a buddy over there (guncam) that was built off a weaver rail mounted laser housing. I then installed a infrared laser along with it . he could see an invisible dot if he wanted to turn it on.

He used it for about 2 weeks till his CO said he could not have it. He even got into some trouble for it not being approved hardware. He loved it though since he could turn a corner with the weapon.

And yes, I am a furry, ..... The more you know .

I tend to be a little touchy since most people think that the furries you see on CSI or some other news rag is the norm. Don't get me wrong there are fetish people out there. But most of those are not furries , they are fetishists.

It is always sad when I finish some project or artwork and post it, the first thing that is always mentioned first is I am a furry. As if anything I have done , great grand or good is to be discredited.

When I say I am a furry , most generally equate it to some pretty awful stuff. Or some freaky meep you will see on the interwebs . or god forbid the fetish art.

The fact is that most people don't know anything about furry but the worst aspects of those associated on the fringes. In my case I am a futurist transhumanist furry. as there are totemist and spiritual furrys.

But you wont hear much about those, salaciousness and sick sells air time and magazine ads, we don't sell toothpaste or tires very well.
And we are not much fun to point and laugh at.

But they do anyways.

hm...could you differentiate the different types of furry? when i think "furry" i think of people dressing up as animals and yiffing.

Solion has paid his dues for his interest in meep different than most of us, so he does deserve a break. My 2c.

As detailed by LK, Solion can produce some really nice work, just like many of the resident artists at the Linkswarm Institute. You got Wotak with his engineering/gitar skills, dent with his visual arts skills, LK with his automotive skills, and many member with their gun skills.

Having none of these attributes in my toolkit, it is always enjoyable and expanding to see what humans can do with their hand/mind/time combo.

OK, let's balance out 50:50 talent blowing with furry ribbing/poking/thrusting.

Basically I don't think this thread would be the best venue to address or clarify things as they should be. The overall knee-meep aversion and squick reaction simply opens most people to either a troll with a sharp stick, or rants about the meepualized perversions/fetishists within and outside of furry.

I will say there are different groups that have various ideas of what furry means to them. They do fall into various catagories however and by no means is this a comprehensive list.

Fursuiters (toony) : Most of these people take on personae as simple and innocent as Saturday cartoon characters. there is a lot of silly in what they do,They seem mostly to hearken back to the childish and innocent
and have that silly happy mascot thing going on. They show affection through hugs and such and are generally are fun to watch as they role play comical skits and such.

Anthropomorphic art lovers. : there is a broad range of people who just come to events to get art, or have art made that represents their "fursona" or for some of the spiritualists (I will get to in a moment) a picture made of their spirit animal. Is there porn to be found ? Yes, but it makes up only 10% or so of all the art I see at an event.

Spirutalists/totemic/religious : I will combine these three into one for the sake of brevity. these are people who seek animal guides (or belive they have them) Feel that they have an animal spirit within them they wish to become one with. Most of these feel that humanity has lost our connection with the natural world. Some on religious grounds feel that worship or following animal totem/gods brings them closer to the earth.

There is a subset of these in the Therian or "werewolf , were cat . were ect.. that I wont go into just yet"

Party Kids : There are those who show up at events and don a tail and ears and hit the raves . mostly young , you never hardly see them except on the dance floor with their glow sticks , this is the OONtz OOntz OOntz of the furry party scene

Realistic Fursuiters : I make quite a number of my pieces for people in this category. Much of the work I do I do for the spiritual people or people who believe they have a living connection to an animal. Some see the costume work I do as a living reflection of something beautiful within themselves . It means something different to each one of them.

For myself , I am a transhumanist furry. I think in time technology will allow us to be able to change the bodies we drive as easily as getting into another car. I suppose the the question would be to the people reading this. " if the technology allowed you to put your brain into a body of avian form , lets say a great big hawk. would you do it? " to be able to step off the edge of a skyscraper and into the blue. If you could have your mind inside of a lion or tiger, To learn to prowl and move and leap, would you say no?
