@meepbox So you typed up your first comment, hit Post, and then when the page refreshed, you were looking at two copies of your comment on the page? Is that right or wrong? The data problem that occurred in the other thread the other day occurred again here, but I can't tell yet if it's cause or symptom.

What I think may be happening is after hitting 'post' it lags, like for 4 or 5 seconds before actually posting. So I think I'm hitting 'post' again because I cannot tell if it was clicked or not.

The second click may be giving me the error message. When page is loaded again it then displays a double post. : /

(The double post does not come from the page refresh after the error as after the error is received I reload the site and peep the comment/link from the front page again)

Ahah. So your confusion over the interface is literally causing both errors:

1) You click Post. The comment wends its way through the system, generating records as it goes.

2) You, being a little Jacky Fart-hat, click Post a second time. The first post hasn't finished its business yet, so duplicate records are allowed to be created as both jobs are in-flight. There are now two comments posted, and duplicate copies of most/all the attendant records associated with a comment.

3) One of those duplicate comment-associated records then causes the 500 error you eventually see after your second click.

So let's attack this in three ways. Firstly, stop being a Tyrannosaurus meeplips Rex with the Post meepon. Secondly, I'll try to figure why the comment creation takes so long that you have enough time to cause mayhem while you wait for it to finish, and see if there's something else that's a candidate for background processing. Thirdly, I could cause something smarter to happen with the duplicate records, probably a) not meep the bed when they're encountered and/or b) disallow their creation in the first place. Fourthly I suppose I could update the 500 template.
