I agree. Bell has their new streaming TV over internet service and this is the main reason why they asked the CRTC to allow UBB. They want to crush Netflix and smaller ISPs.
I am one of those customers that will drop from 200gb down to 25gb for the exact same price. If I want my old bandwidth I have to pay around $80 per month. Ridiculous.
I urge all Canadians to visit the following link and use the form on that site to send a message to the politicians. About 200,000 people have already signed up.

I don't understand... I have Cable Internet through Rogers and their packages have been metered for ages. This article feels like the writer had some obsure ISP and just got affected and instead of investigating says "For the first time Canada's internet sucks" lol

This doesn't affect Rogers yet, but will soon shortly I imagine. Rogers started billing last year, and most likely seeing this meep, will want to do the same. meeping criminal companies.
Bandwidth costs is not a retrograde process, prices go down, not up. meeping ridiculous.

Yes, Rogers was going to adopt the 25GB cap in June.
Thankfully an election is looming. The Conservative government is pretending to hear the public. They claim they will stop the ruling even if the CRTC doesn't.
We shall see though. The majority of CRTC members were appointed after Harper took power. The majority of them are Conservative approved members (hence the corporate friendly decision).
