Let me briefly lay some knowledge on you fine gentleman. First, this is against Iranian law (a variation on Islamic law).

'Article 74 of the Iranian penal code requires at least four witnesses -- four men or three men and two women -- for an adulterer to receive a stoning sentence, said Ahadi, of the International Committee Against Stoning'

Second of all its against Islamic law. Here's a relevant passage from the Tribes of Jordan, which deals with honor crimes. Conviction for adultery under the Quran requires:

'four upstanding, law-abiding male eye-witnesses to the act (or eight female witnesses)-the act of witnessing, moreover, should be by accident or surprise, because no one should be looking out for such things, and it is worth bearing in mind here that even murder requires only two eyewitnesses for a conviction...the eye-witnesses must attempt to pass a thread between the two bodies, for only if this does not work can they be certain that intercourse was taking place.'

There's a bit more on this, but basically the Quran designs the crime of adultery to be unprovable. So, talk about how Iranian society is all meeped up all you want, but this doesn't have anything to do with traditional Islam.
