On the surface this seems like an evil/retarded idea, but after some reading I can't really find anything wrong/suspicious about it. Am I missing something?

You're missing the fact that this website HELPS YOUR KIDS GET COMFORTABLE WITH THE IDEA OF BEING IN DEBT.
The goal, here, is to help your spawn get comfortable with the concept of delayed reward, not delayed mothermeeping responsibility. I hope to jesus you don't have children.
How is this not illegal?

I like 'What are My Payment Options?'
'Pass the Duck': Why pay when you can have friends and relatives pay for you? If you choose to Pass the Duck, then your friend or family member can pay on your behalf using a credit card or any other Kwedit Direct payment options. If you're a teenager, you can share the details of your account with your parents when you ask them to pay for you.

They need to learn about it sometime anyway. Might as well do it with fake money and no real consequences.
I hope to jesus you don't have children.

I thought a minor person could not enter into a legally binding agreement. That they could sign a contract but would not be bound to it's terms. Did they change all that, or am I missing something?

You're missing that the minor's parents are liable for the debt. Ever have a paper route as a kid? You're P or M had to sign the contract agreeing to ensure the payments.

*To understand Kwedit Promise, it's important to recognize the two functions of bank cards in on-line shopping: first, they provide access to a pool of money (via a bank account or a lender) *

The rest of the quote:
and, second, they enable electronic payments over the web. As we all know, if all you have is cash, you can't just push it into your computer screen when you want to buy something. If you have access to plastic, however, you can get what you want just by typing numbers into your screen. On-line card payments are easy and ubiquitous; on-line cash payments are essentially impossible.
Your assumption contradicted by:
Is Kwedit Promise the same thing as credit? Not in any literal or legal sense. There's no loan, no interest and no obligation to repay.

I stand by my assumptions. The 'teenager or adult' has no obligation to pay, but the parents of the 'teenager or adult' who needs 'kewdit' is. You can shill this site all you want, but I'm not buying it. I know how these winds blow, or whatnot.

Flake: They need to learn about it sometime anyway.
They need to learn that you only enter into debt only for investment purposes, as a last resort. If you need a car to make money, but you need money to get a car, you take out credit. If you want 25,000 gold on WoW, you meeping save up the $30 or whatever those idiots pay. Please, please do not suggest to anyone that this is good for children. If you let your own children do this, call children's services on yourself immediately.

do not suggest to anyone that this is good for children.
I never said this was good for children, it just seems to be not quite as bad as it appears on the surface. It's never too early for a lesson on responsibility and how credit works (that you need to pay it back some time) and I fail to see how extending a 14-year-old a $5 line of credit will meep them up somehow. But this is just my opinion. Fortunately for you richard_parker, you can do whatever you want with the children you will never have.

The danger in this is normalizing the abuse of credit. Kids need to learn the healthy uses of credit instead of using credit for convenience store purchases. This is the kind of meep that keeps the poverty stricken on the poor house.

debt is slavery... don't get too used to it
I can take out a mortgage and the bank gets free money from the fed and gets to charge me 5% on that money that they got for FREE, while my savings account from the same bank earns less than .5% .... yeah that's fair. The funny thing about debt is that in an inflationary economy it makes more sense than just saving your money, and inflation is the modus operandi of the world economy.
