Engineers look at troubled systems and then think of possible rational solutions to quickly eliminate the trouble. Next they run through this list of possible solutions and run a series of tests to gather data regarding their various experiments and their results on functionality of the entire system. After crunching the data gathered, they use it to drive either the end solution or further experiments.

It's a methodical approach to dealing with problems and it rarely fails if it is employed correctly. The result is the hypothetical installation of a series of ''switches'' with new, defined and proven results that become an engineers ''control panel'' for getting meep done.
