I've been waiting awhile for this. I was thinking about trying to do it myself, and then I remember I have no skill whatsoever in efficiently rendering complex functions in three dimensions.

meeping finally.

Moar delicious 3D Mandelbrot here.

Also, bacne

You meeped it up. It wasn't the acne, it was the depression.

Although I AM trying to eat at the moment.

Me as a teen, depressed and bacne

There, that's better. If I had photoshop, I would press the 'add meep' meepon to make it complete, but all I have is MS paint and fifteen minutes. This will have to do. Thank me later, Clavis.

+2 pts for using the sad little Zoloft bouncing-egg guy.

I'll take that in rads, thanks. 70 more and I can change your avatar to something with a meep in it for two whole weeks.

The point isn't to be angry and pouty, the point is to fight back with amusingly whacky yet insightfully original witticisms, rather like a kid chanting 'sticks and stones...'

You've had such a rough time here, I'd feel like a meep if I didn't let you, though really this is pretty much an Alpha trick. I suppose the page needs updating.

I just found out we can do this a short while ago. Now...who gets the infected meep head ...

BE RIGHT THERE

The Mandelbrot set is somewhat unique in that it was not created or constructed by old man Mandelbrot. It was discovered.
A property of complex numbers at the origin of the Aragand plane that existed since the begining of time just waiting for someone to stumble across it. It was the source of the idea of strange attractors and how organized complex structures could emerge from chaos.
I have always had a sneaking suspicion that it could explain things like how complex life could emerge from goop soup. The Mandelbrot set and it's relatives just might be God.

Actually, all that depends on whether you believe math exists. Math has no more substance than any other idea. Geometry wasn't discovered any more than 'Pulp Fiction' was discovered.

Whether or not math exists, math models. Period doubling and chaotic outbreaks have been observed in predator-prey populations and other naturally occurring systems. Choas theory accurately models many damped and driven systems elegantly where the calculus becomes a nightmare.

Yeah, math doesn't have to exist in that it is only being used to describe what does exist.

Math is bunk, so is history.

K. Pulp Fiction was a bad exaple. How about the TV show 'Planet Earth?' Discovered or created?

Just sayin'. It's only supposed to provoke thought, not outright rejection. The idea that all math is discovered rather than created is a popular debeate among those who study it and are more weird meta-philosophy inclined. It's also a question that they can't agree on.

I'm not claiming either particular view.

Gentelmans! richard_parker, esquire, may have come to this fancy dinner party wearing stilts and a mushroom hat embroidered with kazoos, but he did not come for outright rejection. Please keep this in mind.

Was math invented or discovered?

This question is both boring and meaningless to me.

Was meep invented or discovered?

At least now I get fun pictures in my head just before deciding it's probably also a boring and meaningless[1] question, though now that there's two such mysteries, there's a whole new angle on meep.

[1] And I guess by 'boring and meaningless' I mean quickly answered if you avoid the Road to Metaphysical Dogmeep, and also not offering much in the way of helpful new means of understanding anything.

It could have taken you three fewer minutes to say that by not posting. For example, I saved three minutes of my life in that manner when I found out that gangs are using twitter.

Dear meep:

I'd like to congratulate you on this latest fruitful zinger of yourn. Believe you me, when I got to your first comma, my hat blew right off my head!

Unfortunately, some of the concepts you share are a bit too high-brow for me to understand fully. Could you chart it out for me? I'd really appreciate it.

While you're at it, feel free to bring up some other stupid meeping stoner-party topics that we could kick around for a bit as you painstakingly practice posting like a non-meep. (You've already weighed all the meep in on 'Does .9 equal 1?'. Might I suggest 'Does C A T really spell dog?'? It's been a favorite ever since I saw Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise, where they're on the tropical island and Ogre gets high for the first time.)

Thanking you in advance!!

are we talking about

me looking at a color swatch and saying 'that's blue'
but then you look at it and see an entirely different color than i do
but you know the color you see as blue anyway
so then you say 'i concur, definitely blue old chap'
and then we take turns hitting the bong just before we hit the sensory deprivation chamber

yet?

it's like, maybe math is really just about flavors

Math, is, like, an illusory n-dimensional projection of our collective unconciousness, evolving along with the eternally unfolding lotus-flower of human intelligence, much like your mother's bullmeep meep.

Awesome.
