I'm not gonna see the movie. It'll just be one of those stupid maximum-hokey disaster flicks, like The Towering inferno, or The Poseidon Adventure, with a bigger CG budget, and more destruction. The only hook is 'prophecy'... oooooooooooooooh!

when the teaser trailer came out, with just the monk running and ringing that bell on the mountain with the wierd music in the background and massive wave, got me hooked. then when they released the full trailer has me expecting a michael bay type fiasco.
I'll probably go see it, for the sfx on a big screen, and hope my brain kind of blanks out the rest of it.
I wish someone would make a full film just of the type of sfx they have in these disaster movies without any plot/dialogue to mess up the apocalypse. I imagine a montage of the big fx scenes from deep impact (huge meteor strikes), the core (mad lightning and hail storms), Armageddon (more meteor strikes), dantes peak and volcano (volcanos, durr), day after tomorrow (huge waves, blizzards/instant freezes tornadoes) twister( big end of film tornado), knowing (global incineration+plne crashes etc) and a few nuke explosions of the type seen in chain reaction, terminator films and the sum of all fears. so all the good bits, minus the human element apart from seeing them get smushed by the hand of god.
