Oh yeah, (and by Sachsenpaule to boot).

It's comforting to know that their are people out there who put as much thought into the philosophy of journalism as others put into science and mathematics, as opposed to merely feeling their way through.

And typing!

Mainfesto: A public declaration of principles, policies, or intentions, especially of a political nature.

And then what?

And being pompous assholes.

Declaration 1: Never disrupt the pro-corporate agenda. Any anti-corporate agenda is to be gussied up as 'socialism'. Declaration 2: Never admit there is a class war being waged by the rich against everyone else.

in some countries, making the 'science vs. mushy-old-feelings' speech makes you a pompous meep as well as not worth listening to

No... I'm pretty sure I meant pompous, the only one. Also: Nocal, why do you hate me so? I try so hard to say things that you will approve of. One day, oh one glorious day, I will will earn your respect and admiration.

...put as much thought...

Perhaps you aren't aware of this, but I suppose you must be, but in the world of journalism, this sort of 'where is the craft headed' talk is pretty much all anyone is engaged in. There must be 200 blogs devoted to THE FUTURE OF JOURNALISM or some such. If there is any topic reporters love to cover, it's the state of journalism itself. Journalists, in my experience, love to moan and gripe and blow each other over how good they are at what they do despite the lack of appreciation from the proles they serve. I've accepted many a free drink as men with nicotine stained beards were handed plaques for using semicolons well.

feeling their way through

Explain your thoughts here, and be specific.

Yeah, I've heard all this talk about the direction of journalism. I don't see how you can avoid it, really. It really ramped up a couple of years ago when their traditional platforms started losing their profitability. Most of it is meep, though. It's a bunch inflated egos meeping about how the industry is leaving them behind. That is why I like this manifesto. It's basically a bunch of people manning up and expressing in a calm and rational manner that the times have changed and they need to adapt to the new arena that the game is played in. Not only that, but they also present solutions to the problems. This, in a sense, is not a necessary part of writing an article of 'substance,' but they do it anyway. It took extra intellectual effort. So, what I mean is that these guys have been caught up in this meepstorm of excuse-making and complaining, and they sorted through all the bullmeep to find the real problems, then expressed them and suggested a way out, without lying to themselves.

If you can PROVE this, you will win the girl, the gold watch, and EVERYTHING!

It's ok. I've already acmeepulated one or two internets in my day. Give the girl to dameep, he needs to get laid, and give the gold watch to nocal, so he can wear it conspicuously and practice not mentioning that he has a gold watch. You can keep your made up words.

Yeah, well even I get tired of biting the hook. I'll have three of the Smarties, by the way. Those things are the meep.

lownotes made the same point as i did (more or less...), but you don't get all boring and limp-wristed on him

boring and limp-wristed, coincidentally, is how your meep porno (in glorious backwards) was reviewed by ebert & groper

Well, I'm meep for you, not lownotes. If Wotak didn't have dibs on you, your rearside would be making a nightly mini-mike sandwich, if you catch my drift, and I'm certain you do.
