Advertisers Leaving FOX Because Of Glenn Beck

What a nut job and I don't mean that in a good way as it should be used. I hope and almost believe that advertisers will enjoy less influence and control over consumers and content heretofore. It's already close to but not quite like Demolition Man where we're all singin; jingles cause that's all we got.

Trouble for advertisers is they can't control the on-air'personalities' much as they would like it to be their own personal forum. Personally, I find all advertising quite abhorrent and certainly don't associate a product with any one show, they are so ubiquitous anymore. I'm not a shopper or am easily swayed by any type of ads. Really, do you go to Taco Bell late night just because they popoup? Gets you some extenze cause it don't? meepers have no influence on me and I wish there were more like me in that respect. Would love to see them realize that it's just not worth the money.

it is very worth it. most of us see over 4000 commercial messages a day and they affect the human psyche in ways we're still just figuring out.

the sheer ubiquity of images has the impact of reinforcing values in a society and if you're not taught media literacy as a yung'un you more than likely come out of your childhood with some meeped up notions of how the world is supposed to operate.

What's really surprising here is that of the advertisers pulling their spots, 2 and possibly 3 are insurance companies. Although I guess Geico isn't really known for medical coverage.

What peeves me about these red team, self professed republican 'patriots' is that they claim to want to conserve American tradition and the fundamentals the country was built upon while at the same time calling for an overthrow anything forward thinking and, well, western.

This country was founded by liberal, forward thinking, men who were all about the liberal concept of growth through the study of science, the liberal concept of education for the masses, the liberal concept of a government of the people without a king, the liberal concept of having the freedom to worship with any religion you choose, the liberal concept of people actually having a bill of rights...

How any person in their right mind can call himself a conservative while ranting against these very core western concepts, I will never understand.

I believe that the education systems in this country have failed to put forward men an women with the mental fortitude of our forefathers... and if anything is going to destroy this country it will be the ignorant masses wrapped in our flag while carrying their crosses. This country wasn't founded by closed minded morons. It was founded by great men with open minds and forward thinking ideals. They founded a western world full of new ideas that were so attractive to people around the world that they flocked here to join the cause...

I'm ashamed of what the word conservative has come to mean in this country and people like Glenn Beck who panders to the lowest mental denominator in this country will eventually be responsible for ruining it.

Color of Change announced today that Walmart, a key bank with GMAC Financial Services, Best Buy, CVS, Travelocity, Re-Bath, Broadview Security and Allergan have all backed out, bringing the list of former Glenn Beck advertisers to Twenty Ha ha, what a meep.

What's disappointing is that his radio show was entertaining a few years back. That is, until he lost his grip on reality. Now his show is synonymous with paranoia and conspiracies.
