In my opinion it is abough paradigm shifting being a good thing, and I like this trend. GM actually looks like it has something closer to market and combining brands with Segway makes it more marketable.
There was a time when everyone laughed at Segway and the Smart car too.

Everyone still laughs at the Segway. Smart car has had a bit more success but I think the popularity of the Mini Cooper kinda helped it along. Baby steps. Slowly step back down from full sized pickups and SUVs to these types of cars.
