Hipster Retards Over-Pay For Trend-Tea On The meep Bandwagon

The drink of choice for Web 2.0 zillionaires isn't a quad espresso anymore. It's a soothingly steeped tea harvested from a shaded mountainside half a world away. Web 2.0 zillionaires? meep you, meephead writer guy.

meepgots Habitually Drink Tea Instead Of Coffee

Wow, you fail to surprise me here.

Did some tea rape you when you were a kid or something?

Remember, these guys have jobs or can afford to drink tea, sobeit if they like man meat. And remember this....You may be sucking meep for beer money soon, so best not prematurely throw stones at glass houses. Best percolate some hot water, try out some different teas, and practice being on your knees for extended periods of time... there could be a line.

Not defending one bev over the other, methinks tea has some advantages that don't have anything to do with being the next 'thing to do': 1) It packs more caffeine than coffee, and 2) Doesn't meep with one's stomach like coffee, so instead of downing 20 antacid tablets, you can enjoy it with a nice biscuit.

Both of you miss the point. It is not the tea I am commenting on. It is the hipster trendy meeps that jump from one bandwagon to the next that draw my ire.

I enjoy a cup of tea once or twice a week and have for years. My favorites are various green teas and I'm currently hooked on Oolong which is a Chinese tea.

teabagging is so 90's

OK. It just seemed like you were lumping tea drinkers, perhaps lifelong, who really got into it for other reasons other than hippness.. perhaps at the same time as the 2.0ers.

I'm all for stringing anyone up who bandwagons or fads... never understood it.. never accepted it.

PS... I pay more for a good hummer than the average Michiganer, so PM me or post on CL. - Sincerely, BDiW

Irish Breakfast or Roobios. One is a meaty sip, while the other is light, but takes a little sugar well.

Actually, tea has about half the caffeine as coffee:

8-ounce Beverage milligrams

Coffee, Drip 115-175 Coffee, Brewed 80-135 Coffee, Espresso (2 ounces) 100 Coffee, Instant 65-100 Tea, iced 47 Tea, brewed, imported brands (avg.) 60 Tea, brewed, U.S. brands (avg.) 40 Tea, instant 30 Tea, green 15 Hot cocoa 14 Coffee, Decaf, brewed 3-4 Coffee, Decaf, instant 2-3

yerba mate is my favourite green tea right now. i like roobios strong with milk. a friend of mine says it gives her vivid dreams.

for black tea 'typhoo' is a good one from scotland, you can find it in some stores. gets strong but not at all bitter, natural sweetness

'Tea shots of gyokuro for $50 a thimble full?' Ferriss used as an example. 'It ain't cheap, and it's certainly not for everyone, but that's the key: It's affordably indulgent. A way to show off your insider knowledge instead of distasteful displays of wealth, much of which has been lost.'

I thought irony like this was the specialty of web20

Just remember to give yourself plenty of time for cooking (a field-dressed baby can weigh upwards of 30 lbs and take a FULL DAY to cook!)
