Just as crazy, probably, though in a direction that doesn't have much chance of affecting me directly.

As far as I know, Obama hasn't displayed any interest in legislating what his pastor teaches. On the other hand, Palin has...

• pursued banning books that contained bad language

• advocated teaching creationism in schools

• backed abstinence-only education

• called for prayer to obtain gas pipelines and to help in Iraq, which she called a 'task that is from god'

And Obama made a show of denouncing that pastor. Palin is cheek-to-jowl with hers.

Governor Sarah Palin did attend Wasilla Assembly of God since the time she was a teen ager. She and her family were a part of the church up until 2002. Since that time she has maintained a friendship with Wasilla Assembly of God and has attended various conferences and special meetings here.

Much thought has been put into my decision to vote for Obama, and one of the main factors is that the extreme elements of the Pubs scare me so, so much more than the worst of the worst of the Dems. In addition, the Pubs appear to have been consumed by the whackjob Pub Borg faction, leaving moderate voices like Specter just a whisper in the wind.

And honestly, for the first time in my life, I'm seriously considering where my wife and I would live (taking our talents and assets) other than the USA.... just the thought of the majority of Americans would support the Pubs gives me pause to consider where my country is headed, and its a place that I'm not interested in visiting.

Lastly, having both conventions on the TV/radio the past three weeks, and catching some of it while in other rooms (listening), I can't emphasize how scary the Pubs chanting sessions were, reminding me so much of a hate filled rally or a clan meeting w/o the robes. Just amazes me how low this country has spiraled.

Pentacostal? That explains everything; Palin has been speaking in tongues.
