Man, if this will help my RLS (related to Parkinson's), I'm in. I spend 8-10 hours a night wishing I had the guts to cut my own legs off.

It started coming on when I was about 12 years old or so. Up until I was about 25, it was just a minor irritation. My legs just felt kind of jittery late at night and would occasionally twitch, but the feeling went away within an hour.
Fast-forward another ten years, and it's truly out of control. It starts sometimes as early as 6PM, and doesn't subside until the small hours of the night. I've been prescribed a whole host of L-dopa based Parkinson's drugs, and have even tried some homeopathic remedies (CHUT), all with limited and diminishing results. If I get up and walk around, the alien sensations go away; but the minute I sit or lie down, they return with a vengeance. Sometimes even short car rides are enough to trigger it. WIth all the flying I do, Valium and Scotch are essential travel tools.
The prospect of wide-awake brain surgery with subsequent electroshock seems, comparatively speaking, like a fuking picnic.

Sitting in a recliner kilz me. I have found that economy airline seats are a way to get the legs off in about 20 minutes. I have found that red wine helps and also green tea helps. One still has to get up every 20 or so. If I fall alseep in the chair Im looking at a long night.
