Lefen: Check out this FF extension. It has an option under the 'Privacy' tab to anonymize the Google UID contained in your Google cookies. That way, you can still retain your search preferences and access to Gmail or whatever, without them being able to track you uniquely by cookie.

'The IP address that is associated with your search will be deleted within 48 hours from our log files.' - from the site. They do mention further on in their privacy policy what information they will give up and under what conditions, especially '...[to] protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of Ixquick....' Why not use it, though. I just wish that the interface had more - as a fellow swarmer likes to say - 'flowers and doillies and pretty ponies and Sparklemotion and whatnot'.
