OK... pay attention. I'm only gonna tell you all one more meeping time. IF you are holding a video camera when something like this happens, you assume a certain degree of responsibility for domeepenting what the meep is going on. point it at something we can meeping see. don't swing it back and forth quickly. stop playing with the meeping zoom. focus on something relevent and stay on it. preferably in this case something with an easily identifiable bottom/middle/top height, some reference to how deep or how fast the water is.

that being said... here's a fantastic example of how NOT to film a catostrophic disaster.
