Build A CMoy Pocket Guitar Amp - Fellow Guitar Whoars

the first device i evar built was an amp (age 14). i played through it for about 10 minutes, my guitar sent 220 volts through my hands(i completed the circuit) then the amp burst into flames(plywood cab.) wow, haven't thought of that in years, that's some funnay meepe, wish it happened to someone else.

Owch, well when I build one of these it'll only use 9v - what happened to ur guitar?

I actually bought a little pocket amp a few years ago, worked awesome till I ran it thru the wash :)

I think I'll give this a go (they are great for quick re-tuning backstage).

Yeah - true, it might need a mod to deal with the mono input, I guess a single amp op-amp driving left and right on the headphones - still - it'l do the job and it looks cool, and its easy to build - I still think I did the world a great service bringing this to worlds attention - you may bow

Any one here savvy enough to describe what measures would need to be implemented to make this device suitable for bass guitar amplification?

Same changes as a guitar amp, you ain't gonna get super clarity out a thing so cheap to build anyway

All you need to do is have a mono input socket - if ur opamp chip has two amp circuits in it (Left and Right) run the signal to both'o'them. Or use a single channel opamp and drive left & right headphone speakers from the output - wont get as much level as a two channel part tho'

i fear a mini pre-amp would be needed for bass, or a capaciter(sp) to 'dampen' signal
