Anyone in Ohio?
I have a job offer in Cleveland and would like to get feedback about school districts and neighborhoods. My job is downtown so where should I move? What suburb will be least likely for my kids to get bullied?

Cleveland is a mess on its entire Eastern side.It is a war zone for 20 some miles in every direction. Lake County used to be nice, I'm not sure now. As for the west side of Cleveland, It always seemed nice from the lake to the airport at Cleveland Hopkins. Also, everyone I ever knew that moved to Ohio from TX liked it, so there is that. Just pack your cold weather gear. Lake effect wind and snow is serious.

I don't know much about the suburbs west of cleveland,so I can't really comment on that.I think you'd like the Mentor or Willoughby area,which is Lake County.Both of those cities are nice,with Mentor leading the way in niceness/school district/shopping/Housing/restaurants etc...For housing,I'd recommend mid-to-south Mentor.I'm pretty sure you won't want to come from Texas and experience your first Ohio winter,living right on the lake ;-) Plus the homes are nicer than those in Mentor on the lake.
As for commuting to work from Mentor,you'd have a 15-20 minute ride depending on how fast you drive,straight up route 2.

I agree. My sister lives in Madison, and loves it. Rt 20 to 2 to work, and close to all the downtown stuff in a short time.

West and east can both be nice. The Westlake/Bay Village/Rocky River area (west side) is nice, but I ended up moving to Mentor (east side). SE or SW sucks for Cleveland workers because 71, 271, 480 and 77 are just way too packed during rush hour. Mentor schools are supposed to be good, but if you're truly worried about the bullying thing I know they've had recent issues. I have no podlings so can't give much more info. Chardon is a nice area and your kids probably wouldn't get bullied, but they might get shot.
