My Machine
So you who pay attention to me know that I bought me a sweet little 48 cc gasbike kit.
I have domeepented my build. I will post the whole thing as a journal when I can convert my pics to a smaller Swarm Friendly size.
This build has been plagued with some technical problems, (Didn't like the new bars, went with the old ones,The rubber is obviously wrong on test riding today, and I have a big guess about adjusting the fuel/air screw, because I'm 5000 odd feet in elevation.
The thing that I can say about it is that I have a good presentation for you guys real soon, and am mostly afraid of not getting the photos to post up in the journal, making it dumb for you.
The reason for the delay was the importance of me getting it right the first time, because this will be my grocery getter/errand scooter.
It looks like an old motorcycle.I got stopped by a couple of of people today while I rode it for the first time. Some meep offered me 200 bucks for it,I offered him a course on how to do his own for 50 bucks.meep.
I am in love with my imperfectly engineered little machine.
I have broken the sweet seat.], and the one on it says NEXT on it, its squishy from soaking up rainfall. I put the wrong rubber on it,me and Jen are going to get some town tires for it,and I got laughed at while I laughed my meep off running down the road,30mm exhaust sounding all nasal and nasty, like pissed off bees.
When I have it right, I'll show you all the shots of the build.
Its absolutely awesome,stupidly, beautifully awesome.
A ridiculous machine.
I'm definitely buying a real motorcycle now.
This little venture now clocks in at 200 bucks with the new rubber.
I'll have it mounted tomorrow, and as soon as I have this carb adjusted to my altitude, I think I'll be able to get around 25 mph and 80 to 90 mpg.
And bugs in my teeth.

Sounds like you're doing something you love.
Always good.
Don't sweat the quality of the pics. Just get them posted.
Text only is meeping boring. Especially on something technical like this.

Upload your pics full size and post them with the thumbnail code. That way we can click on them for closeup goodness. Also, bugs are
good for you. I used to have a cat that almost lived off of them.

I have the pics ready, and its still too big, so I'll convert the sizes to something more swarm friendly, because I'm too meep tired to do it right now.
I was hoping to get a better seat on it,
I got my fast rubber today, and it was part of the problem for real.
Also, I find that after several short rides, it is breaking in nicely, and I'm going to try to take it out for a 20 miler tomorrow. It keeps smoothing out as it breaks in, and the idle seems to smoothly climb now, and I can get like 25 to 30 on it.It is beating the meep out of me to ride it too.Pedal assist means I have to pedal to get it started.Me plus the bike have a combined weight of like 325 I bet.
Pics tomorrow.

I thought I was close to done here,.........I broke the seat carrying the bike out of my basement. It wasn't a good handle, pulled the rivet out of the sheet metal, which I didn't discover till test ride time.

I'm thinkin' old timey10 speed with the narrow 60psi hiway tires. Couple of questions. What about braking, Is there a clutch that disengages when you hit the binders or what? Also, how much throttle control do you have? Most 2 strokes pretty much have two throttle settings, off and on.

The throttle is a standard motorcycle style one, had to drill a hole in the bars to fit it.It gives fine control up to the redline/governor/float/needle and seat problem.
There is a locking clutch handle inboard of my front brake handle. It really works nicely. You have to release it manually like a MC. That gives me the ability to completely annoy MC riders , 10 speeders and motorists.
One thing is for sure, nobody ignores it.Everyone stops and either laughs, smiles, or hates it.
A lot of guys have queried me about the kits.
Anyone know of a a good 2 stroker high altitude carb guide?

With fuel prices at $1.54 per litre this seems like a viable transport option.

It was meant to be cheap fun.It is clearly the best 200 clams I ever shelled out.
As for the masculinity thing,I look like I should be riding something bigger.
Its the Harley riders that have been loving this thing. They want to hate it, yet I don't need to register or insure it, so WHO IS FREE OF THE MAN now, man? Freedom comes at a 25 mph or so price.
I was tinkering with it at the dispensary, and I put a lame old biker on it and push started his meep.
He said if his legs worked, he'd buy one.The other biker laughed hysterically until he realized he could get 140 mpg, said his old lady needed one and wanted the website to look himself.....Its Audis, old ladies, and the 10 speeders that hate me.
They can suck blue smoke. My carbon footprint just got even insanely lower than it was before.
When the carb is tuned, I'll post self effacing video of the Camel, cruising slowly, low altitude,.........
I've run it a lot of miles on not so much gas.
I am having a serious carb problem, likely from the rough handling during shipping. That said, I think a new one is like 15 bucks, so,......I have some theory to go research about it. Cheers.

So there are two things in the saga of the gasbike. Jrock, my neighbor (not real name)
bought a gasbike kit. He then painted his meeping frame gloss black, and his meep looks tooo much like mine. So I need a new color. Haze Gray? Doo Doo army brown? Cream? I also will be mounting it on a different frame now I think, an old seventies Huffy Sport Cruiser. That meep would look good in any color. ........
