What's a good phone for Verizon?

besides the iphone, verizon is also launching several 4G phones (i'm not sure whether these are LTE [real 4G] or HSPA+ [fake 4G])

Someone should tell Nocal that neither Sprint's WiMAX nor Verizon's LTE network are really 4G. It's all just marketing bullmeep for the stupits. By the time these networks have actually been upgraded to REAL 4G, all of the 4G phones on the market today will be obsolete dinosaurs.

Also, @nocal, Verizon's network is LTE and EV-DO. They don't use HSPA. The only major carrier that does is T-Mobile, I believe.

In theory, LTE is the network that promises the most speed and T-Mobile is preparing to convert to it but Verizon already has this network in place and will most likely be the first to roll out a truly functional, REAL 4G network. I wouldn't expect it for a couple of years though.

They have only allowed them to define these networks as 4G because the companies have put in place a 'road map' to upgrade to real 4G. Read the link I posted, stupit. Then rip your ugly, stupid, wrong face off and bury it.

To complicate things even further, if you were to follow the initial 4G standard set by the International Telecommunication Union, none of these networks would be worthy of the 4G moniker.

Predictably, I'm recommending that you wait til the end of the month when the iPhone hits. Your lack of regret in your purchasing decision will be manifold & joyous.

@spankerchief in short, don't buy into the 4G bullmeep for this upgrade. You won't get a faster phone. Unless you want to wait for one of the dual cored Androids to rull out, the best phones on the Verizon network today are the HTC Droid, Droid X and Droid 2. I believe the Droid X has the fastest specs of those three... and it is seriously a badassed phone. I've also played with the HTC Droid Incredible and it's pretty nice as well. Not quite as fast though and the meepons on the front get accidentally pushed way too easily. If you want a real keyboard, the Droid 2 is your phone - but of the three listed, it's the slowest. Bear in mind that all of these phones are fast as meep.

This phone's pretty badass.
I'm in a hotel in San Jose right now.
(Taking a course on maintaing/fixing the motion sensors on the peremiter fence)
I used the Navigator on the way up, and it worked flawessly.
(I'm on the hotel's wifi writing this on it, btw)
The voice recognition software works flawlessly too.

I got one of the new incredible phones last weekend, major change from the blackjack I was using. If you haven't gotten a case for your phone yet, i highly recommend looking at otterbox.
