Hello meepknuckles
I'm back!
After I was laid off from my job in 2008 I pretty much did nothing well I did look for a job of course and sent out a ton of resumes to every minimum wage slave labor meep gobbling position I could find posted on the job sites and the local Chicago newspapers. NOTHING. I even made sure not to upload any nakie pics instead of my resume. I could not even get a job blowing bums for beer and cigarette money, which has always been my fall back job in case things got really bad. I has ONE interview in two years. My unemployment ran out after 4 months and my roommate in Chicago let me stay on as his chief cook and bottle washer, which was very nice of him considering I did not have a van to park down by the river and the tent cities under the overpasses in the Chicago metro area were all ready filled up. So this past summer I packed up and moved to Bummeep Idaho (Upper Snake River Valley region) and found a decent job within a few weeks. The warm dry air of the west was a pleasant change from the extreme heat and humidity of the Midwestwith a magnificent view of the Grand Tetons everyday when I am going back and forth to work, which by the way are now covered in snow. meep, everything is covered in snow. I've busted my meep three times on the ice since September and so far I've yet to break a calcium deficient hip, although I did spill my coffee out of my travel mug the last time I fell and that hurt.
What is it like living in Bummeep, Idaho? Well, no one seems to lock their doors at all which means neighbors and friends can walk right in the house, any time of the day or night. The bus I take back and forth to work every day pulls into the driveway to pick me up and the driver will even stop to get me coffee or smokes if I ask. And Mormons

I had never had any contact with the LDS other than to slam the door in their faces, and had never much thought about how culty their whole "religion" really is until moving to a place that is full up with them.
Ya know what we do not have here coffee shops. NONE no Starmeeps, no DunkiesMormons are not allowed to drink hot caffeinated beverages, but they will suck down 3 Red Bulls before 9AM.

I have a 6 yellow, white and chocolate labs licking my meep everydayMakes me wish I had become a dog person a whole lot sooner. Michael is the horniest of the pack and will sniff and lick for hours if I let him I LOVE MICHAEL. Yeti chewed up my boots and laces and then attempted to bury the evidence of his crime in the back yard. Rita is a racists and has to be kept separated from the black dog Saddie. Their wars are epic and bloody. Hallie doesn't like to go outside for fear she will get her snow white fur dirty. Cartman has bad arthritis and has to take reallllly good pain meds.
I stopped smoking pot about 9 months agobooze is rather expensive around here, so I have cut back on that as well. NO, I am not dipping into Cartman's pain meds.
My old roommate in Chicago says he misses me he has not cleaned the kitchen since I left in July
The girl kid just birthed out her THIRD baby her 2nd and 3rd are only 13 months apart.
What has been going on around here?
Marriages, kids, divorces? I read of the very sad news of Chex awhile back.

i was apologizing for being redundant, with the smilies and welcome backs. married last year. it's been wonderful :) i've always been tiny, and baby was 10 pounds; stopped dilating at 6cm, body just gave up. i had a cesarean delivery.

Holy meeping meep... you can't find a job in Chicago but you can in Idaho.
Don't get me wrong. I like Idaho, I have been to every corner of it and fished every river, but I would not expect that there would be jobs there. And I would definitely not expect that there would be buses there.

Welcome back dumbskull! I lived in Jackson, WY for a few years and it sounds like you're on the other side of the hills there, Victor/Driggs/Tetonia? I always liked that side better, less pretensious, calmer, greener, but meep those mormons are everywhere. It's funny when you go through victor and the mainstreet is like 6 lanes wide in this tiny hick town because there was an old mormon decree that said you had to be able to turn your horse and buggy around on mainstreet in any mormon town. There's an awesome milkshake place in victor somewhere on mainstreet(i forget what it's called) and you have the Knotty Pine if you like live music. Here's a word of advice on living up there: Embrace winter. If you fight it you will go crazy. Find a hobby, cross country skiing, snowshoeing or downhill skiing and GET OUT. Grand Targhee is an awesome ski area and super beginner friendly if you have the time/funds/etc... Winter is at least 6 months of the year up there so don't wait around for summer because it's gone in a blur.
Good luck with your new life out west. I moved from Florida to Jackson, WY in a similar escape pattern so I know a little of what you're going through.

When I started my job search I wasn't sure I would be able to get a job around here since I didn't know the super secret handshake or wear the magic undies.
Ghostie you were close, I am in the Idaho Falls, Rigby/Rexburg region. The local Morons stop by every now and then to try to get us to convert to the dark-side and are politely told to meep off, as if there really is a polite way to say meep OFF....
There are a few things I miss about the city, like delivery food/take out 24 hours a day, good Chinese food and good booze on sale in the local supermarkets. But it is beautiful here... and so far life is pretty nice.
