Gettin' all pretentious

I admit that this is a pretty rough-looking thing. I had a slow night at work and borrowed a few of their limited amount of tools to make it. (You ever try to shape wood with a bench grinder?)
Anyway, I was giving some thought to how many chests and wood projects I might be making in the future.
I figured since I'm gonna be doing it for awhile I might as well get a little pretentious and make myself a brand.
I made one with my name on it at first, but it seems to me that just your name would indicate that you own it.
I wouldn't feel comfortable having something with just Joe Blow's name on it. -It'd look frickin' stolen.
A manufacturer would make something with a little flair.
So this was the result.
The shield and swords motif is pretty common, so I don't feel too bad about using it.
(Anyway, I've already been using it for years in my garge/shop:)

I'll let you brand me for an upfront payment of $1000, and then $400 per year until one of us dies.

I thought it would be a great idea to brand myself on the wrist with a crucifix back in the day when acid and The Cure ruled my world. I don't think I would do it again, unless there was a paycheck in it. If any lurkers from Progressive or Pitney Bowes want to buy ad space, PM me .

I don't think I'd want to burn a brand on my wooden sword.

I haven't shaped wood with a bench grinder (burnmarks unlimited) but a guy where I used to work tried to cut a hardwood ( Aussie Redgum) block in half on the metal cut-off grinder. He set off the smoke alarms and got the fire brigade to show up. $600 later he was unemployed, not because of the bill but for generaly being an idiot.
