Weirdest xmas gift
I got a gift this year. An artifact from an uncle who still fondly recalls his time as an altar boy. No matter what the relationship, I think this gift would stand alone as a strange present. What makes this even more delicious is:
1) we are not related by blood
2) we never talk - not email or text or phone
3) interaction at annual family events is minimal at best except for brutal put downs
4) he's never given me a gift before - ever

Its actually a pretty neat book:

Check out Akekee, Wlademer (Its like the creepiest yearbook you've ever cracked open)

Hands down the most troublesome boys went to the Catholic High School. Back in 91, they installed big pillars at entrances to malls because some Central Catholic boys drove their Bronco into Dillards (in the mall) at the Ralph Lauren section and piled that truck high.

San Fernando OLDE PICTURES

I have 2 family members currently enrolled in Incarnate Word - neat that the main building was completed in 1900 wtf is this boston?

Think I could sell this on eBay?

It is odd he gave it to you, but don't sell it, re-gift to another family member next year.

^^ how are we ever going to heal the rifts with such religious ignoance, you zionist dog.
probably worth something to the right person, maybe more in a few years when the catholic church goes bust.
here's a fun game for all the family, see how many mugshots in your book actually correspond to police mugshots

also, the wierdest/best present i got this year was also the best, board game called khet, kind of like chess with a second level, where you have little mirrored pieces and you have to bounce a laser beam around the board with them to knock out the other players queen/pharaoh .
with the added beam splitters it gets confusing as to where the beams will bounce around.
this, plus the huge flatscreen hd tv we bought ourselves has made my christmas pretty enjoyable this year.

Look, you already are fawning all over this gift and sharing it with your little friends who came over to see what Santa brought you. Keep it, because you will get more miles out of this strange meeping book than that strap-on that your partner bought you.
As for Nurglets.... welcome to the world of board gaming. Always nice to see a person take a leap into something not Monopoly (which is still cool, but not all there is out there).
Nurg... let me know how family members take to this.

So is this like his yearbook, or just something he found somewhere?
Did he gift anyone else in your immediate family? If not, that really is creepy.

This was a gift to him when he was an altar boy and I doubt its been opened since 1974. No idea if he gave anyone else a gift, family is big and it would be awkward to ask around. I asked his sister (my aunt) WTF is up with your little brother and she was mildly surprised that he gave it away. She was the one suggested I could sell it on eBay.
After paper, bows and boxes were thrown away and the youngest nephews were burning the refuse, the alcohol started flowing. My uncle sees me with the book and he wistfully starts recalling his time in seminary (!!!!) and between belches, tells about quitting seminary and getting married to his first wife (!!!!!). Since then, he and Bishop Fury are no longer tight like this (fingers crossed), HIC.

Reminds me to not be that creepy uncle.
Is there any reason he would have given you this or anything this year when never before. It may have some historical value someday, or did they give these things out like condoms?
The regifting idea is good, circulating it through the large family could be interesting see who ends up with it on the coffee table or as a doorstop.

Archdioses of San Antonio?
I was just in San Antonio for Chirstmas, visiting the wife's family. You shouldn't be surprise at the really old dates on some of the buildings. A lot of the missions around SA were built ~100 years before Boston was founded.

Naturally the missions are old as meep, including the alamo. But the college that my niece and nephew are attending has a building that was finished in 1900 took me by surprise.
