one time i broke my ankle playing soccer. i went to block a cross, and the dude still tried to cross it, only my toe was in the way. my ankle twisted around and i spent about an hour trying to "walk it off." breaking bones really sucks.

i used to say this, for 25 yrs i'd never broken a single bone. then one day i fell off a little bike like this meep is riding:

i happened to be going down the steepest hill you can imagine at the time after drinking and the whole episode ended in surgery, metal pins and codeine for a broken thumb.

broken bones suck, but at least you'll be able to tell when its going to rain from the feeling your leg gives you, and the dull pain you get from it when it gets cold.

I used to play college-level hockey and was probably the #2 goalie in the now defunct Western College Hockey League (WCHL=really meeping nothing, just 10 or so schools that had regular games). I was in a hockey tourney in Eston Saskatchewan and there were scouts from the Flames, Oilers, Nordiques (yeah I'm dating myself), Canucks and the University of Duluth scouting goalies. We were unbeaten and were ready to go into the final, everyone was playing their best hoping to score a nice junior deal and play on a farm team and maybe even get to sit on an actual NHL bench someday.

I broke (well shattered really) my tibula during a game of pick-up nerf basketball (I wish I was kidding about that) in the dressing room before the final.

1 plate, 4 screws, 2 months in a wheelchair and 3 weeks on crutches were the coffin nail on my barely sprouted hockey dreams. The Duluth Bulldog's rep asked to see my x-rays about 6 months later, I sent them and got them back about a month later with a response that can be loosely translated as :/.

You should have plowed over that meep blocking first. If a guy had been on first you would have. Let this chick know she owes you a meep for saving her life.

Pretty sure I'll have to get a cast, but the doctor said unless the bone "slides" out of its current position I won't need pins. Saw the x-ray - it was a pretty good break I guess.

And I CAN'T walk on it - hurts too much.

Tore my acl twice with reconstructive surgery and dead nerve endings in my left leg. But boy, seven days of Hydrocodone sure is fun.

Broken right elbow (car accident), right wrist (sparring accident), nose twice (flag football and sparring accident) and my second toe on my left foot (training accident).

I fractured the C4 vertebra in my neck when I was 20. In 3 places. 7 1/2 weeks in a fukin halo with all the associated apparati. But I do have a jump on all the local weather guys.
