Chipmunky Cheekz
A month or so ago I noticed that my face seemed oddly puffy. I had been reacting to allergies so at first I thought it was related to that, but when the allergy thing went away, the chubby cheeks remained. I haven't gained weight, so while at a routine doctor visit, I mentioned it to get an opinion. He felt my face, and asked me to smile. When I did, he said "Ok, you're a happy person aren't you."
Me: "Uh... well yeah, I guess."
Doc: "It's your facial muscles built up from a lot of smiling and laughing, it happens."
Me: (smiling of course) "How ironic."
Having a sense of humor throughout tough times has given me a fat face. FUKIN GREAT. It seems kinda weird and I've never heard of it before, but it makes total sense because the sides of my face feel like the Terminator's biceps when I smile.
That's the sane version. It could be that I'm a daffy, batty fool who can't control being amused at EVERYTHING. Those of you who know me will know the answer to this immediately.

So your face got puffy and you suspected illness but it turned out to be new musculature from smiling. Somehow that reads like the plot summary from the last-place entry in a film-school short-film class contest.
