A confession
This must be done. I owe it to the world to share this reality that I have only now accepted as true.
The other day I was driving along with the radio on scan, looking for a good tune to listen to. I heard a noise and it quickly passed, and it took a few seconds and a couple more stations before I let myself believe I might have just heard what I heard.
It was an impossibility, it just couldn't be.
But I still found myself scanning backwards to whatever station that was, just to see. I just had to know. "I can't be", I thought. "It just cannot possibly have happened. There's no way I just heard what I think I might have heard. There's just no way."
I reached the station and listened.
And there it was. It was true. It was the song I thought I had heard, as impossible as it was. I let my mind absorb the shock, the realization that something was occurring at that very moment that I never would have believed could occur. This song, this oddity of the past, was, in fact, on the radio at this place and time on planet Earth. And in a bizarre twist, I found myself reaching beyond all realms I thought to be certain about my own capability, my own existence, my own worldy and existential ability to maintain any essence I had of what my own spirit was ever even capable of imagining...
I started singing along to it.
And as I heard myself doing so, I was in utter amazement, bewilderment, humble shock at how navie I was to have spent so much of my life being so certain that this sort of thing was impossible. Yet here it was, happening, the words flowing out, putting me in a swirling haze of a somewhat jubilant disbelief, like I was in a whole other unchartered dimension altogether. All things true became untrue. All things certain became a mystery. All clear lines became blurred. And just when I thought I could start to try to make some sense of this, at least enough to come to grips and not have my mind completely blown and scattered into metaphorical space...
I started dancing to it. That driving-in-the-car dance, but the dance nonetheless. Usually forgiveable, but for the song - and the dance - in discussion here.
Now, anyone who knows me knows I am a bit out there, prone to random moments of silly - and occasionally stupid - harmless acts of eccentricity. But this goes beyond any realm of thought surrounding the bizarre. Ladies, Gentlemen, Friends and Foes, I hereby name this song and induct myself into a whole new hall of shame and amazement that the universe itself has never known before. I give you:
"The Right Stuff" by New Kids on the Block.
Life - I - will never be the same. Thank you. And I'm sorry.

I SEE you on your most VALIANT effort , and raise you the correct context.
Keep trying though....... its fun to see you try, kinda like the token retard at work that delivers the interoffice mail. It never seems to get to quite the right place but its amusing to watch them try and figure it out.

Thanks, Floppy. Thanks for everything. For the pic fix, the insulting observation, for everything. I <3 you. Goodnight.

Neither. I really can't explain this station. It's nationally broadcast and it plays everything. EVERYTHING. The song that came after that one could have been Golddigger, We've Only Just Begun, Ring of Fire, some meep by Britney Spears or Stevie Wonder, meep I dunno. It's Florida.

I understand this rick and roll rubbish inspires illicit lust in young people who then meep to it's beat. I hope you haven't fallen prey to this. Especially in your car.
If you do, please post pics.

Or DOUG FM or any other of a number of names.
They're complete rubbish stations that get people beat up for listening to them.
They're run by a computer and have a different "name" depending on where you are.

It happened again. Same song, same scenario. I can't believe people are worrying about the crisis in the mideast or the war in Iraq or terror plots when meep like THIS is happening.

Acidburn: Jesus meeping christ you meep. All that writing just for that? Please log out and never return here again.
Well acidburn, I'm in no way gonna argue with you that I'm a meep for this (I've been a meep for lesser things) but consider this: Watching that video again after like 18 years or something made me not get horny for Joey like I used to (interesting that even then, I went for the younger guys) but instead I was looking at the bigger picture. Where the meep are they dancing, someone's abandoned apartment? And what's with running around in what appears to be a cemetary with some girls that look about 10 years older than them? I dunno, I guess nostalgia can only go so far until it makes you feel like an old meep.
Still gonna rock out next time that comes on, though.
Ya meepgot.
