Linkswarm Loses One Of It's Own
This morning at 4:30AM, Justin Thomas Mercier, Linkswarm User Valt, died of congestive heart failure. He was 22 years old. He was born with a heart defect, and received a heart transplant 6 years ago.
I first met Jason about a year and a half ago at Dontcamp, playing Battlefield1942 Desert Combat online. Soon, we realized that we were both Swarmers as well, and we hit it off great.
During that time, we had many great conversations over TeamSpeak about life, heart transplants at age 16, and his love of programming & music. He was a soft-spoken guy who loved life, and never forgot to live it. Despite the limitations his heart condition placed on him, he never played the pity game.
I'm going to miss him, guys.

meep dude.
I remember that guy.
I think he offered to help me with some programming bit and it was one of those long-term look-you-up-when-it's-time things.

Funny exchange between Valt and frans
It's rare to see frans back down from a newbie like that, I remember thinking at the time.
It's too bad Valt never had the chance to "THRILL US W/ YR PORNISH TEMPLATE OF INTERNET SUPERIORITY! "
It sounds like he had it him.
Sorry to hear about you're loss, Clavis.

Good idea. Would honorary Alpha be too creepy?
I'll do it anyway.

Dang it! So many fine people die too soon; so many evil ones keep living.
I'll say a blessing to the sunrise sky, down by the ocean where all things begin and end.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, Clavis.
Truly, Valt, I hope you were in Heaven a full half hour before the devil knew you were dead.

No offense to him, but am I the only one who finds it odd that a dead guy has a recently swarmed link in his Clipswarm?

Clavis,
He sounds like a good man. I am sorry for your loss but happy that you had the chance to know him well. He sounds like a true friend. It is hard to lose a friend in the holdays, I am sure his family is devastate. Be there for them. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mofo: No offense to him, but am I the only one who finds it odd that a dead guy has a recently swarmed link in his Clipswarm?
If you've never clipswarmed anything, a recent link from someone else's clipswarm gets randomly displayed there for you, to show you wtf. I should probably hide it from other people viewing your account page because it only causes confusion.
Also, although I didn't realize it at first, Valt was active as recently as 10 days before he died. He used to be a lot more active, though.
I've made him an honorary Alpha.
