Here we go again

Tommorrow is the third anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks and we are in the middle of an election campaign. Both major parties here are saying that they will not campaign tommorrow but this strikes me as blatant hypocrisy- they are saying that they are so sensitive that they wont insult each other out of respect for people that their attitudes killed!

At the same time , the Australian embassy in Jakarta was bombed yesterday by the same people ( Muslim extremists) who blew up the Sari Club in Bali and our beloved leader still says that our 'participation' in Dubya's little adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan hasn't hurt how we are seen internationally. It's not that long ago that an Aussie passport was one of the safest in the world but now we are targets in the same way that israelis are targets of Muslim fanatics and the British were targets for Irish extremists a few years ago. This is not a comfortable feeling.
This is not to say that the Islamic people are to blame for this sorry state of affairs . I am sure that the great majority if Moslems are as disgusted as the rest of us at the actions of a lunatic fringe.
Anyway the main point of this entry is to say to New York and all those who lost loved ones three years ago that my thoughts are with you and I also hope that sense will be seen and the world will retreat from madness soon

even if they do, we still have some seriously scary meep happening in the next 10 years or so. did you guys check out that "ways the world will end" link a couple days ago? Read the one about the "oil peak".

Yea, I have a theory on this. Basically, I shoot everyone who pisses me off and become king of the world. That would make the world a much better place.
