What did you do on the big 4th of July holiday?

I got a batch of mutant firecrackers.

I think the child slave workers were all hopped up on something when these were being made in China, because I've never had firecrackers that make this much noise or blow up stuff so well. They're Black Cats, and I've bought the brand before, but never any with this kind of destructive power. I think they had a little too much gunpowder stuffed into them.

I'll be asploding things today, then busting out my "Fight Club" DVD.

Being as how Fireworks are legal here, i got a bunch, there was a place having a "buy one get 2 free sale" . Make me wonder if 2/3's of these things are duds. Either way from where i live i can see all the fire works in the valley. Oh and BTW, I am almost ashamed to say that i went and saw Knight Ranger and Taylor Dane (free concerts). Being as how they were free, you couldnt beat the price i guess. Supposedly Suger Ray is playing in the park not to far from my house tonight, yay. I may end up there after i blow some meep up later.

I woke up, having managed to sleep in somehow to an unprecented 11AM, read for a bit, and then came upstairs. Me and the LBP is at my mom's piece, which is cool, cause mom does all the good mom stuff. My mom and her husband were out though: instead of the omelette thing we had planned, a friend's cat jumped under a car and its eyes popped out so they went off to bury it.

The DSL here finally came back, so I checked out Slippy's latest thread, but there was nothing too X-TREEM in there, so I tossed up a couple of links.

I tried to make espresso with the machine I gave my mom, but I packed it too hard and so then I had to wait for it to finish. Then the LBP did her magic and produced a good load of espresso. We also had beers.

This is about the time that my mom et al showed up and somehow there was this big adventure to a pool planned, which I was not down with as I didn't get to decompress in front of the machine. I had to slam my espresso and go sit in the sun.

Yucky.

Then we went shopping for food. I'm hoping the giant roman candle I've had in my trunk from last year is still good.

Tomorrow me and LBP hit Vermont for 4 days. You don't. HA HA.

You know, one thing I forgot to say about that was that we never buried it. I just scooped it up in a shovel and threw it in the ditch where it rotted and stunk up the entire block.

I blew up apples and old plastic jugs filled with water and blew a few branches off a tree as well. I discovered that by taking a pencil and running it through an apple I could stick a firecracker in it and have my own mini "grenades". I almost blew off my fingers, though, and let me tell you, apple flesh hurts when it hits your face.

I live on a rather large hill out in the country, and if the sky is clear I can see for miles around. So, I caught five different fireworks shows tonight without ever having to rub elbows with any humans.

Totally sweet.

vasudeva, you fayget. that smoking cauldron just happens to be full of snakes (not a lie) and slugs. I killed every last one of dem summeepes with much fire/smoke/blow-uppage. I RULE!!! Well, i just finished with my first Vegas 4th of July. let me just say this PURE MAYHEM. I live at the top of the valley against the spring mountains, theres not much there, which is nice. Tonight it seemed as if everyone had enough rockets and gunpowder to invade a small country (myself included). Across the street from me is nothing, just alot of dirt and some cacti. Needless to say pretty much everyone up there congregated here with their explosives. Not only that but you could sit back abd look into the rest of the valley and it looked like Baghdad firing off tracer rounds during the bombing. pretty meep sweet. Not to mention the old school cat up here that just happened to have Dynomite, MAN what that stuff does to a full grown cactus! It is now going on 11pm here, and things dont seem to be slowing down much.

Spent most of the third doing the "Small town ruled by evil, inconsiderate, religious Asshats who ABOSOLUTELY cannot have any holiday not ruled by their one and only religion, founded by some guy on Crack or Acid that thought angels were talking to him and made him wear Magic underwear, on a Sunday" otherwise known as Mormons... Then big/Huge firework show to make up for it... Great way to celebrate my 5th wedding anniversary.

On the real Holiday, crowded the family into the "economy" car and drove 40 miles to go see a baseball game and some fireworks after nearly 2 weeks of working Jack in the Box so I can get a couple days off. Just to find out that they ran out of room in the stadium... but for a dollar, you can sit outside the stadium and have one of the local radio stations tell you what's happening. YEAH RIGHT.

Then just come home and whine about it here....

I blew a bunch of stuff up with illegal fireworks, Ate a whole elephant full of good picnic food and then I got drunk, stoned, laid and watched some meep kicking fireworks. More or less in that order. I don't remember all the details.

I remember that I had fun though.

I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything I thought it could be.

This years fourth kicked some major meep,,just look at this guy, I spent a good 2 hours watching captain america set off about 7 huge boxes of firepower. meep there were fire works blowin up everywhere!!!
