I have studied that case a lot since I started taking a whole range of sociology classes. Its fucking incredible. Now women are supposed to yell "fire". Fucking revolting shit.

yeah, that's a pretty fucked up story. im not sure why psychos kill random people.. if i went crazy, there's a small mental list of who would have it comming, but no one i just see on the street.

unfortunately guilty people have more rights than victims. in any decently run country this guy would have been stabbed a few dozen times and raped by a horse.

about 7 or 8 years ago i was driving to the store, in a parking lot i saw a guy beating the shit out of a woman, she was lying on the ground, and he was kneeling down, lifting her head up by her hair, and punching her in the face. I jumped the curb with my jeep, and jumped out yelling, i ran toward them, when i was upon them he jumped up and grabbed a buck knife out of a belt sheath, and slashed across my stomach(i have a 5 inch scar) the police had already been called, and the only reason he didn't kill me is that a cruiser had turned into the parking lot.
I don't know what my point is, but helping people is good, just expect shit like this...

I have a 5 inch scar across my stomach too, from when this guy gutted me like a deer to take out my gallbladder and appendix. They take out shit using needles now and don't leave any scars.

didn't something like this just happen in recent memory as well? I remember hearing something about a man in California dragging a woman up and down the street, beating her and raping her. They kept walking past these kids that just stood watching, and cars were driving by but not stopping. I distinctly remember this story? Anyone else have a less bong ridden memory that can help?

Yeah, Dog, I remember hearing something about that but it never really made the east coast news.

Actually, the Kitty Genovese story wasn't big news either until a reporter picked up on what actually happened. Until then it was just another NYC murder.

The thing is, we learn a lot about this in psych. When people are part of a large group (ie in an apartment building full of people), they are very unlikely to do anything to help. It's not that said people are bad for not helping, they just don't feel a personal responsibility, and figure that something is taken care of by someone else. I was told by the teacher that if your car ever breaks down, try to make eye contact with drivers because if they feel personally singled out, they're more likely to stop and help.
