Oddly enough the week started weird and ended with me feeling uneasy. well maybe upset, mad and frustrated are better words, but in all fairness I am trying to not let this day bother me.
I can never mention names, but I can give situations and let you make your own choices on what happens. so here goes todays top story:

Funeral home calls... its " Jenny" she has a baby burial for us. Fine, I take the information. But then I pause and stop, look at my paperwork and pause with unbelieveable thougths. This is not a normal infant burial this is a public aid burial.

Ok now I shall ramble on... First of all, public aid burial happen everyday. Its not really uncommon, but the peperwork is a true hassle. Submit 3 copies, attach death certificate, copy of public aid card... and invoice to Pulbic aid. Ok Done after 9 million interuptions and phone calls. I am trying to get things together for this Infant burial.
What strikes me odd this day is.. The mother has no Social Securtiy Card. Red flags go up all over in my brian. I stop what I am doing and call public aid. I get " James" who is used to talking to me about these matters, he can't find the mother in the system. He searchs the PA # and find she has another name.. ok.. well we can bill pulic aid for this Infant burial. I am not going to judge this family but, I will say the first thing to comes out of "James" mouth is " "both parents are Illegal aliens and this is the second stillborn child."
My blood boils at this point, for obvious reasons. Ok I calm down and remember its an infant, a innocent being who has died from, Chomosome 18 ( Chromosome 18 Ring is a rare disorder in which there is loss (deletion) of genetic material from one or both ends of the 18th chromosome and joining of the chromosomal ends to form a ring. Associated symptoms and findings may vary greatly in range and severity from case to case, depending upon the amount and location of lost genetic material and other factors. A ring may also be formed without the loss of any genetic material. However, many individuals with the disorder are affected by mental retardation; low muscle tone (hypotonia); growth retardation; repeated infections during the first years of life; and/or malformations of the skull and facial (craniofacial) region. Such craniofacial features often include an unusually small head (microcephaly), widely spaced eyes (ocular hypertelorism), and/or vertical skin folds that cover the eyes' inner corners (epicanthal folds). Chromosome 18 Ring is usually caused by spontaneous (de novo) errors very early in the development of the embryo that appear to occur randomly for unknown reasons (sporadically).
So maybe death was a blessing for this child.

How can 2 illegal aliens get public aid in this country, And still not have a social security card.This family have not 1, but 2 infant deaths and we as americans pay for it.? I am sorry for the loss of a child to anyone and its never easy to deal wiht no matter what the age. But please dont forget, we as americans are paying for the funeral expenses , Hospital and medical exams as well. This costs the family Nothing. Thats right folks. We can't go to Mexico without a passport. And they sure as hell aren't going to give us free help.
Again I try not to judge but some days its just hard to leave things at work and forget them. I will let you fill in the blanks and let you give all of this some thought. Till next week when things get weird.. see ya later
