On this date exactly a year ago I was out on my big dig hating life because I would have to return home to the ball & chain the very next day.
One year and 2173 miles later I am fucking happy as a pig in shit. I knew only a small handful of people when I crash landed in Chicago and I have met at least a hundred really awesomely cool people since I arrived. I have been in Chicago for exactly two months, now setting up shop in the center of the loop.
I am still ass broke overly educated and unemployed ... waiting to hear back from the Design firm on the south side near the United Center located in now upscale semi chic section of what used to considered the Devils asshole of the city...and a techy firm in Gay town. Both pay about the same. I have carpet bombed the city with resumes since I arrived and have been very careful to not upload any more nakie jpg. files!
I had mega high hopes for the Veterans Upward Bound Coordinator position I interviewed for at a local University... but then my initial interview had been a total fucking gang bang in a conference room with 6 people four of whom were obese black women and one hot little Hispanic dude who was totally digging my ass from when I walked in the door...and the Department head a retired Army Officer who was really into the fact I was a REAL vet and not some ethnically politically correct applicant who had no clue about what it means to swear and oath of do or die allegiance to their country.... Sigh. I have found I do not interview well with the bitches! I am still assimilating to business casual and business professional so I often hit the streets in an ass hugging knee length skirt and slamming four inch heels...
Just as soon as I settle in I am going to hit graduate school. I am seriously contemplating a Maters of Public Admin Policy with a JD in Environmental Law.
I might be broke ass and living off the charity of friends but my ass has not ever hit the pavement to beg for change on the streets nor have I ever had to sell it either!

I have a couple of questions for you:
1. you a real vet, like you were in the service?
2. 4-inch heels? are you really that short?
