I went home two weeks ago and I finally got the time to do a an essay about it. We went to Manhattan and stayed at the W Hotel which is on the corner of 45th and Broadway. Times Square is so different from when I was hanging down there in the 80's. I miss the dirty gritty Manhattan, but the cleaner crime free Manhatten is nice.
The lobby/bar which we spent the last hours of the night, only remember a nigerian hitting on my wife which almost caused him death.
Our room was on the 29th floor facing north on Broadway. What a fuking view.
The wife eager to go to the Yankee game which we had no tickets for. We met two other couples down there and one of them was supposed to hook us up. It fell through. However he did have passes to the Stadium club . All we needed to do was get into the stadium and an air condioned bar was all mine.
The Subway. always an experience.
We ended up scalping tickets. I didn't care where we sat because I had no intention in watching the game from my seat when I had a pass to an air conditioned bar with flat screen tv's and a bar maid serving me ice cold corona's. So two $20 tickets and we were in. I never saw the field.

After we cleaned up (I might add we had a nice glow going by this point) We met at the Westin for drinks at Bar 10.
We were supposed to go to Becco's for dinner but they had a two hour wait so we went to some crappy italian joint across the street. Nothing but Asians in the kitchen and Mexicans serving food. Our waiter claimed his name was "Antonio". In fact all the Mexicans had adapted Italian/American names. The only thing cool abot this place is they served Italian beer which I had 2-3. I had the calamari, it was a tad bit salty.

We did nothing but drink alot after dinner. The Stone Rose, The Hudson Hotel, Lots of Vodka and I apparently decided to abuse some art.
So did the wife...oops

Old guy claimed to be a veteran and had some cool stories so I bought him a couple of drinks.
Did I mention the women Love Hobo?
In conclusion we drank alot for 16 hours. fun had by all.
I miss home

I can't believe you didn't go out to the field to watch the game. What was the point? You could've saved $20 and not went to the Bronx and watched the game in any bar in Manhattan.

I can tell you that all these images can be mirrored/changed/multiplied in the south - sans underground trains.
When i get there though, I want to link up with that.

Shitbox: I forgot/too hungover to take a picture of the view or any view for that matter.
Uar: i guess I should clarify a few things. I am not a NY Yankee fan. I have been to a couple a hundred Pro baseball games already in my life. It was 90 plus degrees and humid in the stadium. Four out of the six of us did venture out to watch a few innings.
Qwerty: Teh wife is not gay. maybe Bi, but not gay. I think she may have expirimented in college ;-)

Sounds like you had a good time. I'm glad to hear that not only did you pay money to NOT see the Yanks, but that you also aren't a fan of the team. Good work Bobo.

Bobo: Hudson Hotel, nice place cept the rooms are a little on the small side. The shower setup in the rooms were pretty sweet though if you like watching that sort of thing.
